Happiness
Just quick idea to open discussion. People in RL feel happy when they have nice clothes, eat tasty food etc.
In cantr we have plenty of nice clothes and food like icecreams, pizza and so on. But in Cantr there's no real reason to use them. So what about introducing hapiness-like value (just like hunger, health and so on).
When your char wears fancy clothes, when it eats tasty food and does some other thing, its happiness value raises. And happiness could affect work performance, healing speed or many others.

I agree that introducing something benificial from eating non-raw, more complex food, and wearing clothes would be good. The only incentive for cooks and tailors is RP, which isn;t always as strong as it could be.
I don't think it should be called a 'happiness' value - that's just wrong, characters should be free to feel happy about anything, not just the ownership of material goods and eating good food.
I have said this a few times, but I think tiredness should be brought back, not just in relation to hitting as it is now. It would be good if wearing comfortable/better clothes and eating more complex meals could affect your tiredness - either make it recover faster, or reduce more slowly (or both).

I agree HF - Emotional states should really be left to RP - A person can be well dressed, warm, healthy and well fed but still be unhappy or have low self-esteem - The closest I can think of to what Marol is proposing would be something like comfort but even that has emotional aspects to it.

Sorry I was being sarcastic... I think its bad enough that there is the prospect that weather will force my characters to wear clothes... worse still if they have to make trinkets to make them happy...

I like the idea and I have even considered this before. Although I do think it needs a different name, maybe we should all go look inside our thesaurus's for a while till someone comes up with a suitable name...or we could invent the name. Frebuzzle, anyone?...I think I might go to sleep now, good night.

I like the whole improving of work capability etc... but i dont like that we would be able to see our happiness in a bar just like our health... Its just another element of control that constricts RP... I liked it when we could not see what we were good at and didnt even have descriptions for things like expertly, awkwardly etc..

To be clear: I don't like the idea of a new "happiness factor", but I do like HF's suggestion of tweaking tiredness to take into account things like clothing, the quality of food, and other factors - maybe even weather.
Regarding clothes and weather, isn't the main function of clothes in RL to guard against weather and the elements? Granted, they exist for modesty and decoration as dictated by the culture, but I don't know of any cases where people have defied the weather by wearing too little in cold weather or too much in hot weather.
As Cantr is a simulation, and we are simulating the real world, why should clothing not be used as protection from the weather?
