BTW: I consider making projects continous - you could start it at any moment and will finish extacly when it should be finished. No more turns. Nothing sure, I just consider that.

Oh no, I’ve grown to know and love the turn system. It’s Cantr physics. It’s the way I think when I get into character because that’s the way life is. You will be messing with the lives and livelihoods of thousands of characters. Then again, that’s what you programming demigods do.

You will be making everyone in Cantr less productive. Players aren’t going to be able to keep track of all their characters projects and figure out what time they will end so that they can log on and start a new one without loosing time. With a turn system you have a three hour window to do that. The productivity lost because of 99% is much less then the productivity lost would be while people are offline and the characters finish their projects.

On a related note, why do people keep getting stuck this close to the end of the project? It doesn't take too much observation to figure out your skill and change the amount you want to be slightly under what your character can do in a day. Longer project times instead of lots of repeats also limits this to happening once instead of once for each repeat.

EDITED for bad grammer.

Mafia Salad, you could extacly know when your project will finish, so whole paragarph is pointless.

Edit: Frankly I can see only one disadvantage (?) - in new system only time actualy spent on projects will count. Currently you can work on a project in building and be quite active outside (and come back to work only when turn ticks). In new system you would be sticked to a project until it's finished or it would progress slower (breaks would not count).

You still would lose the nice 3 hour shifts and window of opportunity to log in by. It would be a lot easier to log in sometime within three hours of a project finishing then right after, and having multiple characters finish at the same time makes that part easier to.

EDIT: I understand how it's more realistic, but gameplay wise, it just seems like this would be another shift to benifit the people who have more flexable scedules and can check the game more often.

Why? You can still have 3 hour shift. As good as 2 hours or 11 hrs 30 mins shifts.

Why? With this approach you can still log every 3 hours. You just will have possibility to log in sooner. But you don't have to. Today you lose some part of last turn. In new system you don't lose it when you log in sooner, but if you want to stick with the old system - you can log at usual time and lose that part of turn anyway.

Ouch. Inthat case I'd be happier staying with the way things are now, I wouldn't want to be stuck on a project, there's always little things that need to be done away from them.

Same sentiments here...

I mean, it sounds like, in theory, it could be good, but I can't really see all the pros vs the cons. So far I can just see some of the cons being presented really, and I'm not convinced it's worth it right now. It works fine as it is, so why spend time on it, rather than on something that needs to be worked on more? I haven't heard any complaints about the way it is now. It's just the way it is... the natural way of Cantr life...

No complains? Really? And what this topic was about...? ;) ;)

Anyway, I only consider that, first I want to find out is this technicaly easily possible, and then we'll discuss.

It seems like it would require a lot more processor time if the computer had to keep track of exactly when each project was began and how long it'd been worked on, rather than having those three-hour 'ticks' to lump everyone into.

I like it the way it is! Plus it's easier on system resources.

Plus, it gives you something to look forward to - finally seeing that % number jump up.

Enjoys those small pleasures of life,

That wasn't a complaint about the overall process being done in turns, just about the 0.1% that doesn't finish on occasion like it seems like it ought.

It would not.

Which is consequence of current system and would not occur in the system I described.
