Ya, but there are a few problems with the chinese interface/translations. like asparugus was translated as bamboo shoots, some of the text is still in english, and if you do certain things everything switches to english (im not sure what those things are but happened to me).
The following statement is not true.

As for the suggestion, a lot of players would leave after a reset. It's history in the making, it shouldn't be discarded.

As for the alternative spawn points, it seems that a lot of people basically feel that they should have an island to themselves. This way they're in charge, and don't even have to do any work for it. If a character wants a quiet place to live then perhaps they should just go to one rather then sitting around wishing they were born there.

This one isn't specific to the Chinese language, though. Same thing happens with the Swedish interface.

Really ought to have a couple of way out there points... I'm sure there's some where very far away from all the current civilization and colonies that could be set up to be spawned on...

There are and you can spawn on them - you just have to learn another langauge :) For instance a new area for Chinese speakers was opened
only last week

;) Already got one on another language island, all mixed up with a couple of other languages, but it would be nice to be able to in English as well, since the old islands are so well travelled... Just think it would make it a little more interesting for the old worn out worlds... But I still have an English one on a relatively unknown/developed island, so I guess I can be happy... :) (Though I must say, I'm a little too attached to most of my characters to kill any off anyway in order to be able to experience another language besides the two I'm in...)

But I can also see leaving those places open for the times when new languages are added... Didn't think about it from that standpoint...

Ok, I know that's not what you're saying, but that's how it comes across.

It's not what I'm saying and not what I'm implying. You are suggesting that I do and I take offense in that.

Indeed, but that is how he interpreted it, and in communication that's all that counts.

To be fair, a lot of suggestions are fueled by stimuli from Cantr itself. E.g no iron but want more wood, suggest stone axe.

Perhaps a reset would solve some problems, but it would REALLY screw over a lot more people than it helps.

If anything, (short of a fiscal miracle or compulsary cantr playing for the over 7s) I would suggest a second server for those who wish to start again... *cough....*

Sorry if this was already touched on butt.....

Im mostly against this but it may be fun if it were done properly or something close to it.

I would suggest a world event that destroyed, to an extent, everything.
Now not total destruction, just in a way that this event destroys all perishable items and most buildings. By this I mean sorta a random destruction type thing. After the event there would be ruins of buildings left, a few tools and weapons and any person with sufficent armour, health, rest, ect., and hopefully most people that survived would retain notes for history purposes and what not.

I have mentioned something like this long ago and I have only recently got back in the game.

I just think, if done correctly, a event effecting the entire cantr world would be a nice challenge and add some excitment and more RP to the game.

Some ideas are...A giant comet smashes Cantr, A Biblical Flood, A ice age, or any other numerous things that have wiped out era's of our Earth.

But I do agree that this could also ruin cantr and the way it has developed. So would the fun and excitment be worth it? I dont know. I do think it could be fun for a bit though.

This sort of thing (world events) happens mainly in games where history/backstory don't really AFFECT your character. YOU don't know the king of Stormwind (or whatever) and you couldn't care less what happens to a bunch of gnomes in a city you've never been to. They can get away with "catastrophe" because it doesn't MEAN anything to the players.

But we built this world. Each person in it is controlled by one of us. It's our world; it doesn't belong to some huge gaming company. A world event like that would be (I think) inadvisable.

Im against the idea. unless there is one server (the curent one) that just keeps going and a second one that resets every 200 years (or some thing like that)

Goin off topic here but I like the different reactions of travelling characters when one thos bugs occurs where they all hear someone trying to break a lock or see something dicking...

It would be cool if there was a cantr wide event.....

EG:
1535-2.23: You hear and feel a deep rumbling in the ground, everything shakes but apparently there is no damage...

Just to see how different locations would interpret it... Might add some RPing without damaging anything in game mechanics..

This game is STILL riding off the surge of technology that was made when you could pull iron from the ground.

Actually that seems like a reason for a reset. :D

There's another thread on it here: http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6361

I wouldn't want a complete reset because I'd lose all my characters, but an alternate version of the Cantr world might actually be really cool, especailly now that all the resources have finally been placed.
