K island was among the old lands like Siom and treefeather, and I've heard rumors Aki was founded by sailors as well. Only the oldbies know for sure. But, All Aki's older settlements are on the coast, there's hardly any buildings inland. Leads one to believe in the sailors stories. What makes Aki more survivable than Burgeo would be the onions and tomatoes, where Burgeo only had turkeys.

I AM the oldbies that know for sure. Pok island and Siom island were open for spawning as far back as I can remember (the two oldest english continents). K-island's spawn points (Karnon, Kwor, and Kirinn) were opened up around 565 or so, or less than a cantr year before my first K-island characters spawned. Aki was opened up just before the hematite change. It was not initially settled by sailors, but rather by a few central spawn locations, of which Aki Jaliko Sover (sp?) I think was one. Although certainly there has been contact with other islands by now. Burgeo, on the other hand, was discovered by sailors from two different continents independently. The first signs of human contact I've seen on that island date back to 730.

For those who want the opportunity to have spawn points in 'undiscovered', far-off islands - see my old... rejected... suggestion http://www.cantr.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5545 ... :(

Was the whole idea rejected, or just the part about ELECTING to have your characters spawn there?

Right, I knew that it seemed familiar when I saw what west first wrote and then when I wrote what I wrote... I'd almost forgotten about that thread, didn't realize it was rejected.. :(

I'm still not entirely sure on that nyself, I know my initial suggestion wasn't clear, and people got the wrong impression of what I meant, but I think the responses, especially those from Jos, indicate that the only way undiscovered lands are going to be populated is through colonies forming...

*sighs*

Really ought to have a couple of way out there points... I'm sure there's some where very far away from all the current civilization and colonies that could be set up to be spawned on...

My newest character spawned on a deserted island (and I wouldn't be at all suprised if it was the same island one of my characters has been sailing around for about 5 years finding only beaches and no food.)
All of my endings are waiting to begin.

I had a caracter spawn in a location with 3 other people there, no buildings, and only one other known settlement (which was about in the same condition)

and that was about a month ago.

I have two newspawns that spawned in the Polish island. I haven't seen another live person on either account for a couple of months now ...

All I have seemed to accomplish was make a smoker and a teeny little dingy

West - the whole idea was rejected - an alternative spawn location and the player choice suggestion.
