No! The religion is christianism. The correct term is "isn't a church, it's a group of churches"...
Man you made me look up Christianism... intruiging!
So I am Christianist not a Chrsitian??

Protestant originally meant those who rose against the Catholic church since it had gone off-track. Actually it's been off-track from the start. The church was gaining riches by selling indulgences. To stop the priests from passing the church's property on to their heirs, it was set that priests must live in celibacy though the Bible clearly says that a shephard of the church must be "a man of one wife". This was set because God knows people have desires and it's best and safest to fill them with a solid partner. Also marriage is a symbol of God's relationship with the church. Anyway you see what has happened when Catholic priests are forced to avoid their natural needs, they go fucking choir boys. And all this because the church was greedy and gathering material possessions.
Also Catholic church had to give into the local beliefs of people, in other words paganism to gain popularity. So it's lots of empty words, rituals, worshipping images and raising saints and Mary on the same level with God and Jesus when there is only one God. You shouldn't pray to Mary, to angels or to the saints, or even to the Holy spirit - Jesus taught you must pray only to the Father, in His (Jesus's) name.
Also Catholic church at least used to prohibit people from studying the Bible because otherwise they would realise how crooked the church is. You shouldn't follow the priests blindly, but everything must be tested and questioned through studying and prayer.
And no other scripture should be raised in level with the Bible. The Mormons follow something called the Book of Mormon, based on some angel vision. Nothing should be based on one vision.
Ok enough with propaganda, you're gonna lynch me for this anyway.

Actually, Seko. I agree with you a lot there. Though there are still more catholics than any other religion in the United States...
Though about the last part, I'm a Mormon and it is definitely not just one witness.
Exactly, as well as the prophets and other general authorities of the church.

Time for some more discussion topics:
Capital Punishment, which I'm a little wavy on.
Cloning, which, of course, is a no, to a certain extent... Atleast none of the type they have on fiction movies.
And I've forgotten the other ones I had. I'll let you know when I remember.
Oh, and there's also aliens, which isn't really a controversy, but I believe in them. Doesn't mean I really care about communicating with them , but I believe that they are out there somewhere. Logically, of course there are, and it wouldn't make sense for there to not be any. Something as close as our solar system, probably not though.

That's right.. I believe protestanism was started by Martin Luther when he didn't like the act of selling indulgences to people as a mean for God to forgive them. When, obviously, they were just selling them to make money.
Anyway, Islam and Hinduism are not Christianism.
Anyway, Islam and Hinduism are not Christianism.
Wikipedia wrote:The political term Christianism seems to have evolved in western media outlets, particularly liberal-oriented blogs, as a counterpoint to the term "Islamist." As Andrew Sullivan has said, "Christianism is an ideology, politics, an ism. The distinction between Christian and Christianist echoes the distinction we make between Muslim and Islamist. Muslims are those who follow Islam. Islamists are those who want to wield Islam as a political force and conflate state and mosque."
