My characters are split down the middle between genders. I see no difference in RPing either type. All the characters are fictional, so you have to put just as much thought into either gender. That is unless your characters are an extension of yourself. I have 1 male and 1 female character, each in the beginnings of flirtatious relationships. Others are loners.
The point is, that your character doesn't have to act or react as any stereotypical human would. The character can do or say or emote in any way imaginable.
I am very new to rp. Cantr is the first opportunity for me, and it has been about 2 weeks. I think the best thing about it, is the ability to break away from what is normal, or supposed to be. It is all acting without the visual. Why not play any and all parts?

I have more female characters than male (4 to 3). I have a range of personalities for both genders. I like rping the female characters although I will admit they could be a bit more feminine. Interestingly my most ruthless character is female and my friendliest character is male. I try not to stick to the gender stereotypes.
None of my characters have gotten into romantic relationships yet so I haven't had to deal with that from either side (maybe it's because I'm so bad at those in real life too)
