Shoreline on map gone screwy

Postby formerly known as hf » Sat Apr 22, 2006 12:14 pm

One of my characters has a solid orange orange coastline. Not helpful as I'm using it to make a map...

Suchrovtilip Nhralls is the original location name, I can provide more details if needed?

Yes - you are right - the yellow beach of the coastline is displayed as orange in that location - There is not much which can be done about this the map format (png) does occasionally do funny things with colours when it's rescaled - sometimes chars see large expanses of black. - its also is a 16 bit colour palette as opposed to the 32bit one your computer screen is probably using - the "closest" colour display of png images sometimes fails to pick a suitable one when it requires converting

The newer version of the image libraries available for the game don't suffer as badly from this (i.e. it it uses a full 32bit palette) but the code has not been updated to handle this libraries

So a long winded way of saying we can't do anything at the moment

It only looks that way when you're in town. Once you undock, it's yellow again.

I'm not in a boat, so that doesn't help much. It changes once I get a certain distance from the location, I should be able to patch something together.
