Best Skilled/Worst Skilled Characters

Postby Doug R. » Thu Apr 20, 2006 11:43 am

My Best skilled (it's almost unfair):

Tailoring — expertly
Carpentry — expertly
Manufacturing tools — expertly
Hunting — expertly
Cooking — expertly
Farming — expertly
Forestry — expertly
Manufacturing vehicles — expertly
Collecting — skillfully
Fighting — skillfully
Manufacturing weapons — skillfully
Burying — efficiently
Digging — efficiently
Building — novicely
Manufacturing machines — novicely
Refining — awkwardly

I'm sure there's someone out there with a character with skills worse than my worst, so I won't bother posting it.

Edit: Age, 35 and has done odd jobs, nothing steady. He spawned this way.

You should also give an age and his most common job.
1223-4: You kill a elephant using a longbow.

*paging Surly* ;)

Well, I don't have full lists for most of my chars, but...

Hunting — expertly
Fishing — skillfully
Burying — efficiently
Manufacturing machines — efficiently
Carpentry — novicely
Manufacturing weapons — novicely
Manufacturing tools — awkwardly
Cooking — awkwardly
Digging — awkwardly
Farming — awkwardly
Tailoring — awkwardly
Fighting — awkwardly

That one's 26, and actually quite successful, mostly because I'm a hyperactive player, I assume. Not so good when you consider how useful the four decent skills actually are, though. Explain to me why burying is even a skill. The project likely takes 2-3 ticks anyway. Fishing isn't much hotter, and machinemaking isn't likely to work as a full-time job anywhere.
Notice the fighting skill. He did a stint as a guard. :lol: Currently, he's a captain, and I expect that cooking skill to bump up sometime in the future.

Not going to try to beat Doug R. Mine have hardly even discovered eight skills. ;)

Most of my charries only have about seven skills each.
The only one that has a strong-ish set of skills is 23 and works as a hunter.

Making tools = expert
Farming = expert
Making weapons = expert
Fighting = expert
Tailoring = skillful
Hunting = skillful
Cooking = efficient
---
My worst hasn't done much, but isn't very good at the things they've tried. 24 and works as a.......er.......aimless wanderer.

Making weapons = expert
Digging = novice
Farming = novice
Hunting = awkward
Fighting = awkward

If I'm not mistaken, defense and offense uses the same skill ("fighting", or "strida" for some of our chars).

Digging — expertly
Fighting — skillfully
Manufacturing weapons — expertly
Farming — skillfully
Burying — expertly
Hunting — efficiently
Manufacturing tool — expertly
Refining — efficiently

It's not in order because I just copy/pasted from the page, and so they came up in twos. It's in order if you skip on out each time then go back to the top...

My youngest character. I hadn't expected him to be good at everything, and he's actually a bit of an idiot. But excels at everything he does. It's helped me a lot with roleplaying him, made it more interesting.

Whereas my eldest charact, a full 10 years older, is poor at almost everything. I can't be bothered to go get the list though.

He is about to turn 50. He lives in the desert digging, hunting, and 'protecting'.

Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

Even more awkward: Your ringtone being "I Will Survive"

The most awkward: Coming back after a 10+ year hiatus and swearing I'd never come back. :twisted:
