Day/Night in Cantr

Day/Night in Cantr
Let's have a day time and night time for Cantr. During day everyone can see everything going on, but at night, actions are hidden. All that you get for your report is "you hear someone picking something up off the ground" or "you hear someone attacking someone". This can make stealth missions possible. And we can have ways to get around the night of course though.
We could have a camp fire which continuously requires dried dung/coal/wood but not much to keep burning and allows you to see 30% of all actions.
We could have flashlights which allow an individual to see 50% of all actions.
We could have street lamps which provide 30% visibility with 1. 60% with 2. 90% with 3. And 100% with 4.
And even lanterns which provide 30% visibility.

well... Lets make time zones in cantr. such as... english speaking peoples are mostly in U.S. and england and some europe and other plases.. so lets make it that all of the plases with english speaking peoples have a time sone of... lets say.. -4 gmt, but of course, cantarians won't know that. so, we need sertain time zones in cantr, sertain times that a sunset and sunrise will happen, and make them happen so that peoples can work during the day and not the night in cantr. ITS THAT SIMPLE!!!

No, easier way to get around time zones so people don't get screwed over..... you don't have 24 hour days, you have say 12 hour days, with 6 hours day six hours night, that way whatever time zone you arein you should get 6 hours day and six hours night when you play

the time-zones there that were sugested was to make people of the same time zone stay in the same time zone as in cantr. But this is different. I'm just saying, that you should make it so that in cantr, wile it is day(for your caracters0, it should be day in real life. but i like having six hours per day, to make shure people get a chance to play in the day and in the night.

That's a stupid idea
No time zones, they are a bad idea, instead we can fix the problem of real life days and nights by having 12 hour days, you know it works

Only for people with a lot of time at hands. Players that are only able to log in once a day, and probably always around the same time each day above that, would still have a fair chance of being screwed.
Just leave it as it is, or least don't let any changes have an impact beyond PRing.

Gah, it is impossible to please some people! Fine then, we have say 10 hour days, that way day isn't at the same time each day, and night isn't the same time each night? That ok for you?

I'd just as rather keep it as it is. Cantr has sunlight and a sun (according to a piece of jewelry, or has that changed?), but is there anything to indicate it has moonlight and a moon? There's no real functionality to making day or night, and as far as rp, people will rp what they want anyway. People will play as they play and their chars will sleep when they sleep.

A day/night cycle added for RP purposes only would be harmless but would probably be ignored, as Hermitess says. A day/night cycle with significant real effects as originally suggested would be much worse, even if it could be made fair - masking events would make town management next to impossible, and any light-producing devices would be essentially a base expense of a safe society - we want to promote societies, not make it harder for them to survive.
