Do you think we ought to undertake a specific project when making the metal parts of a tool to shape those metal parts using an anvil, heat, and a hammer, rather than just putting X amount of grams into the project, and it miracuously taking on the right form?

Taking more time, effort, and tools would be a good trade off between multiple resources.

I see the shaping of the metal and such part of the project that produces the object. I don't think such an addition would add anything to the game, except take longer to make something.

then perhaps we add an anvil and fire to the requirements for mking tools involving metal. That would have the same efffect

Well, you are sopposed to need an anvil to make anything that needs steel, but I don't think it's working like that at the moment. Don't know if it was fixed.

It should apply to any metal. Forging is part of the refinement process as well for metals of all kind
