Now, first of all...do you like battlefield?
If so, have you heard about the New Battlefield? No, not BF2, I mean the new one coming out.
Yes, that's right, theres a new one coming next year. Battlefield 2142!
Finally, a future one. Well, a future one that isn't a mod made by some poor obsessed fan. This one has all the wierd gadgets of tomorrow including:
-Cloaking devices
-Mines that follow
-And the latest Giant robots to hop on inside and blow the crap out of your opponents.

For all that are interested, here's their trailer:

H4X0r omg!1!!
I am a big fan of BF1942, though I haven't gotten around to playing BF2 yet (though I hear it's quite good). BF2142, though... I'm not completely sure whether I like it or not. I mean, come on, we've got enough futuristic games. But if they can do it as well as BF1942, then that'll be tight. :D
All of my endings are waiting to begin.

Seems really good. But I still like my Battlefield Appocalypse mod. They assume that the future won't have a completly collapsed nation to play about with

I have never played battlefield, I usually like my FPSers to be quake styl-ie, but I've heard that it's pretty good. I tried out Enemy Territory the other day, and, despite what I had thought, really liked it. Is battlefield anything like that?
Whoever you vote for.

Battlefield is kinda like Enemy Territory, except there are vehicles, and instead of choosing the weapons you have in your class, you pick a class and get those exact weapons. There are some other small differences (Such as differnces in how mines and dynamite work, etc.) but other than that they're kinda similar. Oh, and there are no ranks in BF.

I believe there is ranking in BF2, you now have to register online and apparently you can get better weapons later on depending on your ranking Unlike the first few Battlefields there's no ammunition box or first aid box, ammunition is now supplied by a Support soldier and Healing is still provided by a medic. Or if you've got a nice Commander (each game people vote for their commander of their team) the Commander might drop a supply box (from an aircraft?) into an isolated area.
In BF2 you get points for a number of ways to get points in game: Supplying ammunition (Support only), healing (Medics only), repairing vechiles (mechanics), killing the opposition, capturing bases, assisting in a kill, driving a vechile that assisted in a kill (eg. flying a helicopter while a gunner shoots a person on the ground).
Battlefield, moreso the newer version, encourages a lot more teamwork then other FPS games.
