Dragging

Postby Missy » Mon Dec 22, 2003 3:02 am

Since people can drag, the person being dragged should be able to get away.

People want a more fair fighting system. But I can't see how being dragged somewhere with out a chance of getting away is any differant than the current weapon/fighting system. :)

I prepose people should be able to get away from being drug somewhere. :)

They can. All a person has to do is leave the location before the drag is complete. Of course, there's usually no way of knowing if your getting dragged until it's too late except by checking your probable enemies' character descriptions and seeing if they stopped working on their projects.

Then there should be a kind of message so you would have a chance to like fight back or run. Cuz people feel when there being dragged

Or try to drag yourself, resulting in an error that tells you that you are already be dragged by so and so.

But I personally think that the minute that someone starts to drag you that a message appears on the events list saying that so and so and is dragging so and so. I know the argument as to why it isn't this way but I still think that this way is the best.

Draggin yourself gives you an error, but it still results in a sucessful drag. This happened to me once. I felt quite stupid.

No, do the drag option not the help option. The help option will allow you to help the people that are dragging you leading to an error that you have to get rid of by stopping dragging yourself. Yes, I was tricked the same way.

It worked the last time one of my characters was paranoid about other people dragging him so I would imagine that it still works unless they changed it.

Is it legal to drag yourself? If so alright then......! From what I understand.....trying to leave the area...while being drug...also results in an error and you're still drug anyhow. I don't much like that idea. :)

Yes, it is legal. This came up with Purple Tortoise when she wuld drag herself to one of her locked buildings so that none of the people in Tircqi could get to her.

I've saw a few characters walk away in the middle of a dragging. I think. If you got an error maybe something was wrong with the game.

I think leaving whilst being dragged is possible.

Until the dragging actually happens, I think, the idea is that the people involved are plotting it or getting ready, so you can still leave, and dragging yourself is representing your character being suspicious of others and watching out for people trying to drag them

Make dragging public.

What I noticed though is that even though you can drag people towards a locked door you don't have a key for, if the dragging would be a success then it gives an error because you don't have the key. And it's not a red error, it reads in the events. So it was a bit embarrassing, like you'd slam your friend against a door just for checking. I was wondering can others see that message too or just you, and is there some hint on who the dragger is.

I think it should logically be shown who is dragging who. Since now you can safely try dragging someone and if it doesn't work, you just walk away whistling innocently and no one will notice a thing.

And if you are being dragged, you should know before it is too late.

It should be like breaking a lock.

Even though the process of knowing who is dragging who..would be nice...I don't want it in the game. It gives that little hint of anonymity that makes it difficult to know who did it. Sort of like if you're betraying someone, this hides who was a helper

But someone just walked up, grabbed hold of you and dragged you into a building. How can you logically explain not knowing who did it? And how do all the people standing right next to you not notice either, for that matter?
