Something like 78 days in jail, no food or conversation provided. I was left to rot. That term was instrumantal to the development of my character, and he wouldn't be the person he was today without it.

No one in game cares about it though. Once he turned 30, he wsa "Vetted", where people assume that because he survived so long, he must have never done something as stubid as rode into town on a stolen (scavenged) bike, steal notes, and get chased by saber weilding Stone Knights on drit bikes. It's good to be 30. :D 8)
Reality was never my strong point.

No. They just let their prisoners rot without any care at all. :?

Mostly being jailed in Cantr means a slow death sentence. Nothing ever processes, no one remembers. For example, I've been witnessing this knocking in Brunoi for several days. The guy inside the prison has dragged some notes, I didn't notice who picked them up but surely no one has entered the prison, even though the sheriff is awake almost daily. (Or is Alex the sheriff? I was in that thought that he is.)

One of the notes I saw said that the prisoner had dropped all the things he took 5 to 10 days ago and begs to be released. But would anyone even care to check? - No. Probably it is/was some newspawn, with not much food if all. (And yes, I read this note in OOC interest since my local character is illiterate. I do not let the writings affect my character's behaviour but he is slowly turning curious conserning the repeated knocking, since he never saw who was dragged inside and for what.)

I remember when Brunoi gave all thieves a second chance no matter what. All they had to do was work for the town for awhile.

There are two types of criminals, and this was kind of touched on previously:

1) Role-played criminals
2) Newspawn criminals

Type 1's should probably just be executed, because they will most likely screw you if you release them.

Type 2's should be treated fairly, and can become valuable members of society if treated with compassion.

Anyway, having several charries in positions to incarcerate people, I can say that neglecting prisoners stems from abscence of mind. It is no different than forgetting to update a town's citizen list, key roster, or building registry. Town leaders generally have so much to do, they forget about half of it for days at a time.

But when my one charrie does remember, he cuts their flesh and drinks their blood.

An aside: It's interesting, the vampirism. Most prisoners choose to pretend it's not happening.

My heck, I'd rather have one of my characters incarcerated than have them continue as they are...it's better than them being constantly and monotonously crushed in their dreams.

Hey, roleplayed criminals can become valuable memebers of society too! But actually I don't think you should treat people differently based on their player, though if I had to choose I'd rather have to deal with a good roleplayer who's awake a lot.

Yeah, me to. If someone's character turns into a criminal because it fits their personality then yay them. But some twit who steals stuff because the player is stupid, that sucks.

Don't you just hate it, when your charri locks another up and the player contacts you OOCly ? Makes threats against you because they take it as a personal thing...and want to resolve it oocly? Never again will I share who my charris are...

That's very bad... :? Not to mention childish...

Silly people... I guess some need to remember that, as involved in your char you might get and as much as you may love a char, they are characters (bits of meaningless code, as well) and you're not supposed to take what happens to them personally or take it to the ooc.

That sounds like it's against the rules to me, did you report them?

When people get that obsessed I think it's kind of sad. You have to feel a certain level of sympathy for people like that, but yet keep a certain mental distance from them too.
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."
