Force people from one location to another (Duplicate Thread

Postby rklenseth » Sun Feb 26, 2006 4:03 am

Taken from thread by Junesun where more than one suggestion was made;

* Also, it would be nice to be able to drag people from one location to another, or at least to force them to change their travel direction that way. It would give people an alternative other than to threaten and shoot fleeing criminals: they could force them to return to the city and put them in jail there. That way, more civilised societies could develop.

I see complications. You're suggesting dragging for days on end. Perhaps modified vehicles allowing people to be dragged into them and then locked in a separate compartment... or shackles etc as once suggested in thread on bondage, to keep them there.

When I hear that...the first thing that popped into my head was a comparison. Some button or whatever that compares the strength of the fleeing guy with the pursuer. If the guy chasing is stronger, the criminal or whatever he might be turns around.

Without some sort of comparison it would be unfair and open to exploits. Imagine every char being able to change the direction of every char whenever he wants. that would be annoying.

This could potentially be a bad thing, think of the newspawn turning you around when you are 90% to your destination, and away for the weekend...You come back to find yourself back to where you came from?! I don't like this idea...

It should be arranged so you need at least two other characters to turn someone around when walking
Whoever you vote for.

No to mention the yes-no battles of turn-turn back-turn that would ensue... last one online wins...

I like the idea of a specialized vehicle where people can be dragged into on roads, though. Would also require implementing a "driver seat" or such or the yes-no battle would be fought on the vehicle itself (which already happens sometimes and is really annoying).

I'm sure I suggested this before. Dragging on the roads.

You are correct but this suggestion comes from a much older thread that I split from which had few suggestions.
