Shoveling firepits

Postby wichita » Thu Feb 23, 2006 7:42 am

Firepits should now be easier to make, as shovels are no longer required to make them. Hopefully this will help out some of those developing areas who are in need of a boost getting going, particularly in light of the food changes.

Happy cooking, my fellow Cantrians. :)

So, now we can dry dung without a wooden tool? Kickarse! :D

/Hellzon - mucho pleased

EDIT: Also, making bronze no longer requires iron... MUCHO pleased indeed! :)

Bronze never required iron... because you could make bronze on a primitive smelting furnace... that only requires stone.... not even a trowel... But it's nice, just in case you can't get that much stone to make one of those easily... :)

Doesn't mean that bronze is still terribly difficult to make and is no better than iron...

*grumbles about the horrible inconsistencies*

What inconsistencies? The reason that iron became popular was because it was as strong as bronze, and so much more common (and hence, easier to get) :D. That aside, there has been talk about making bronze easier to make, although no decision has been made.

I kind of agree with bronze needing more resources etc... but the problem is, you can't find all of the ingredients needed for that... or all of them for hematite in some areas, it seems...

I have a char with close access to two of the resources needed, but if you look at the current map of the island, the other resources aren't on it... but maybe she'll just have to do some extra exploring eventually....

Right now, bronze seems to be the only viable, possible source of metal though, as the third resource needed for iron has yet to be found as well... and there's been extensive searching for that, she's been told... maybe she'll be able to find out where those other resources are though... :) I'm thinking iron will be harder to get than bronze in this case though...

Yay! :D

And thank God it happened now and not in a week or so...one of my chars has been seriously considering paying what would likely have been an outrageous price for a shovel, just so she can cook healing food.

SWEET!!!!

Now a place that one of my chars and two or three (depending on whether or not the third changes her mind about comitting some kind of ritual suicide) are developing can finally have a foodsource without having to spend several Cantr-years travelling for food, then farming for it...
And we don't have to basically sell everything we have to this !@#@#$#$@#@ guy who's trying to rip us off with his insane prices either.
Awesome....
