Would it be totally out of order to be able to pick characterstics when you spawn a characters...

Sure there would be a lot of strong 6ft darker haired latinos but some of us would choose something different!

We've basically been through the whole debate on character traits - general consensus was that leaving it up to player choice was a bad idea, and that a system using genes would be codable and effective - then genes were accepted a couple of years ago, ProgD started working on them, and they have not been heard from again.

I have a burning desire to have short, fat slightly balding character with one eye and psychopatic tendancies... think Robbie Elgas but sligthly better looking!

Well, it's all there in your own head. If you want others to recognise him as such, describe him IG as previously suggested by someone.

I actually like this idea. If we had random physical attributes, or even chosen attributes, it would save the hassle of having to describe what your character looks like to everyone. I think it would be good to just have the basic attributes described.

Hair, Eyes, Skin color, Height, build

Also, if the stats were randomized, perhaps they could differ according to location. For example, the people from lake village having the tendency to be short with brown hair and green eyes, while the people from Kiii are tall with reddish skin, black hair, and brown eyes.

That way, when people start moving around to different towns, people may be able to recognize where they originated, much like in RL.

Actually the more I think about this, the more I like it. And of course, any other more specific details as to the description could be rp'ed. For instance scars, hairyness, cleft chins, high cheekbones, etc.

It could actually lead to good rp opportunities.

Seriously, any person who is going to make any suggestion should take consideration of this posssibility.

And yes, I agree there are alternate in-games methods to this suggestion presented in the first post of this thread.
Notice how weak and petty we are / In the grand fixture we come afar / Hey we can't help it / No denying the prerequisite for love / Your very existence / You're the source of my substenance / Slow down take your time and feel the / Flow
