The Muck Pond

Omura shrunk in on herself as the sun dipped below the horizon. She felt very cold and frightened now, but continued down the path towards the Fields. She just wanted to find someone, anyone.

The fields rustled as Omura enterred them. In the darkness, she bumped into a large form.
"Oh my," a voice spoke. "It is dark isn't it? Xunis has yet to show her face."
As Omura looked up at the form she had crashed into, a glimmering, widely set pair of eyes looked down at her, illuminated by some light within. The form was that of a giant serpent. The great beast reared up as if to strike, but held back. It peered at her intently.
"Most wonderful! I have gotten lots of visitors lately, all such wonderful creatures! My name is Resuso, I am God of Food. These plants you see around you, I call them groff. You may eat as much as you desire. It tastes like anything you want it to, and if you don't know what you want it to taste like, then it will taste better than anything you can imagine."

*He noteses that Erake has vanished, and became VERRY startled, and confused, he didn't even notice the boy untill he started hitting him with the stick* Heeeey there, stop that. *He catches the stick on his next swing, and breaks it in half, wile still in the boys hand of course. He then picks up the boy and starts carying him towards his home, dispite the boys yelling and hitting. he opens the door and sets the boy doun in the doorway, and baks up back to Andrik and sais in a wisper* It looooooks as if they really don like us.*he then raisis his voyce, enough to be herd by everyone in the place, and sais* My name*He then points at himself* Ith-i-cus. He*He then points at Andrik* Andrik. We *He then moshens at both of them* Ffffreeeeeends. we good. *He then lowers his voice* You think they understand us?

Erake watched all the creatures staring out at the other two, and she grinned. This is just crazy. That little one could have gotten hurt...Stupid creatures. She looked around and sighed. Why are all the ones I run into, the stupid ones...? Rolling her eyes she decided to watch from a short distance. She watched the two that were together with curiosity.

Omura screams at the sudden image of the serpant. "I'm sorry... I wasn't taken anything. I swear. I was even paying special attention to my arms to make sure they don't get me into any trouble. I was just looking for someone, have you seen him? Tall guy, scary looking, big wings, bad attitude?

*He, again, sais this to Andrik* I don't think this is going good...*he then sits doun cross legged, and speaks, still, only loud enough for Andrik to hear* Were did that other creature go. maby she can go invisible....... Andrik, wat is happening for that other person right now?

"Dear, wonderful creature," started Resuso, "you have nothing to fear from me. Indeed, I spoke to your friend Deimos just a short while ago. He went down the forest path, just over there. I'm sure if you hurry you can catch up to him." Resuso angled his body toward the north-west, indicating the direction of the forest path.

The mother screamed as Ithicus opened the door and placed the child inside. Moments later, she pulled the curtain aside to see Ithicus walking away from her home. A short time passed before the door opened again, and a burly male Pink One with a full beard hastened towards the two visible creatures. Before getting too close, the man dropped to his knees and bowed before the creatures, his hairy head touching the dusty ground before them. He mumbled words that could not be understood, but it sounded as if he were praying, and it certainly matched the gesture. The mother followed not long after, with a basket under her arm. She advanced slowly, with more trepidation than the male, and placed the basket down quickly near the feet of the creatures. She then ran back inside and shut the door, leaving the man (likely her husband) praying.

"That way?" she looks down the dark road? "But I can't see too well. What if I wonder off the path into a monster's mouth?" She notices her arms start to wonder towards the Groff, but she restrains them trying to not make another person angry at her.

"Do not worry my wonderful creature," said Resuso, "it is a friendly forest, you have nothing to fear, and the fireflies will light the path for you."

Erake watched the creatures in amusement, and as the one started bowing down to the other two, she frowned. She didn't want to miss being any part of this. Grinning, she made her way to directly behind the two he was bowing to and allowed herself to reappear. She waited silently for one of the three to notice she'd arrived.

Ao rumbles back in earth-speak. "I have come to pledge my service to you, Mother. To help you in any way that I can. Anasek has given me my life, and Ilosep has given me my fate, but it is your form that I bear and it is your earth that I would choose to serve, if you will have me."

"Fireflys? Those little glowy bugs?" She looks down the semi-lit path leading to the forest. "I don't know. You're sure that the forest is safe? I mean your so big, you don't have much to fear, but me... I would make a fine snack for someone out there."

[Fleegle]

"You.... hon.... or.... me.... with.... your.... pledge," Eriadina rumbled. "Ay.... Oh.... you.... are.... now.... Child.... of.... Earth."
Ao noticed that a shape had appeared on the center of his chest. It was a circular emblem with a complex geometric pattern on the inside. It glowed like the magma in the pit, though it did not seem to hurt. The glowing ceased and Ao was left with a permanent etching of the emblem in his chest.
"Welcome, Brother," Kikkik mind-spoke to Ao, letting Tek hear as well.
"Now.... you.... must.... per.... form.... first.... quest. You.... are.... pow.... er.... ful.... one. Need.... strength.... for.... this.... task. Long.... have.... I.... been.... sep.... ar.... ay.... ted.... from.... sis.... ter. Great.... mis.... un... der.... stand.... ing."
"Forgive me Mother, you have chosen this task for Ao?"
"Is.... not.... too.... much. Long.... time.... I.... have.... wait.... ed."
"Allow me to speak for you Mother, for I know what task you speak of," Kikkik said. "Brother Ao, Eriadina has a sister. Goddess of the Moon, Xunis. They have quarrelled with one another for a long time, and Mother in her infinite grace seeks to reunite with her sister. But Xunis will not listen to her, and has killed every one of the servants Mother has sent to mediate. Mother has not sent a servant to her in a long time. Please know that Mother would not ask you to take such a risk if she did not believe you could bridge this gap. Your task is to take a sacred token and present it to Xunis. You must convince Xunis to reunite with Mother. Mother believes that this will help to restore faith in the gods across this world, so perhaps you can use that to help convince her that this is best for all parties. If Xunis and Mother are reunited, the fallen ones may once again hear the voices of the gods, and may return to the path of faith."

The burly Pink One did not see Erake appear, for his head was still touching the ground, and he continued to pray.

Deimos decides that further travel is a bad idea, and enters the clearing, looking for a place to go to sleep.

*He looks to his side to were Ereke is standing and sais* Oh, hello.*He looks back to the man.... then he looks back to Ereke and JUMPS* WHOA!!!! Just a secont, and I will be back.*He then walks to the man, who is still praising him and Andrik, and pulls him up (He tryes at least, but I think he would comply to his pulling.) And shakes his head, grinning a little at the absurdity of this, he also grabbs the basket, walks up to the house, opens the door once more, but before plasing the basket doun, he gets a few of wat was in there, wile inside the house, he smiles at the womon with her chiled, and promptly leavs* I can't stand this. Why is there even a curse here? IF ANYTHING SHOULD BE DONE HERE, THEY*He then jestures to the man who was praising him* Should be able to understand us. But I have to DO somthing here..... Gah. Andrik, iff anyone asks, I'll be at the temple, Removing this plagu.*Then, getting an idea, he goes back to the house, opens the door, and grabbs the basket, puts watever wat was inside of it on the table inside, and starts running towards the statue.* Andrik, I'l be right back!!*He yells as he is running* In the morning I'm sure I'll be back!!
