I don’t know If this posted before, and maybe only personally me thinks, but I feel that clay is not used/represented as much as this material should be.
At least I would like to see some even very small building build from this material or/and small storage facility made from clay.
What others think about such proposal?

Right w/e wichita. But seriously I'm against clay for houses just because it seems like a whole lot of work for the progammers for nothing. Most places with clay have stone or mud. So wuts the point?

One word. Variety?
And another thing- stone takes ages to dig up and you need a lot of it to make a house. Mud is not always found with clay, and rarely at that.

It makes RPing sense to build a house from clay- more RP sense than to make it from mud...
There were more Clay houses built than mud houses in history.
Evolution is unconformity.

... I'm sure something like this was in the works at some point, but, wth ...
Break down buildings into components:
Foundations:
packed ground
slat floor
cobblestone
walls:
thatch
mounded mud
wood planks
fitted stone
aluminium siding
polished marble
Roofs:
tatch
mounded mud
shingles
fitted stone
corregated aluminium
polished marble
clay tiles
Then the buildings could have some what of figureing out how to make a building or a hall from whatever, so you could determine how much it could hold, and you can use clay or what not where you want it.

Reality was never my strong point.

Actually, I am not sure how detailed plans have been to break buildings into parts, if at all. I am not against it, as I think it could have a lot of potential towards helping some interesting manufacturing / exporting economies to develop. It would take some careful planning to keep it from being an excessive complicarion, though, which is the big downside. We don't want it becoming painfully complicated like the crossbow.
As for clay bricks and what not, I think there is a bit of time to wait for game progress before worrying about bricks and what not. I have the impression that clay is just now beginning to see more widepsread use. Once that use is somewhat fulfilled, and the "market" begins to saturate, I think there will be greater demand to add things like bricks, etc.
I think some things like porcelain furniture or vases might be expected to come out before buildings are dealt with.
