Radios on Vehicles

Postby thatsmartguy » Fri Feb 03, 2006 12:57 am

Besides the stylings of Sheeler & Sheeler, I think that we should make a sort of vehicle mounted radio. Think about a town leader out on a trip and something serious stirs up in the area, he can be called inside of his vehicle to return. Stranded/seperated sailors can try to contact another ship or nearby towns on a predesignated channel, and towns can be warned of invasions before they even get there. You could have a personal radio on you as well, but I don't think it would go nearly as far. In general, I just want to see mobile radios, it revolutionize communications and travelling, especially on the sea!

In regards to ships, its been the likely unstated assumption that once buildings on boats are implemented, that characters could build radios in these new buildings.

I am pretty sure that the concept of transmitter has been thrown up for discussion on the radio discussion forums. If not, it has at least been brought up in RD discussions.
