But really, in the old days(1000-14000) One archer couldn't take one guy doun on his oun with only one shot, if he was over 80 feet. of course, people in cantr don't stand 80 feet away when in a battle. NoOOOOOO. they stand next to people and poke them with their longbows unstead of using an arrow.
So... really.....
If you make muskets really bad, then nobody will use them. If they are bad, make them easy to make. DUH!!!!!
If they are good.. make them hard to make.

Not to be mean, but that is an awful suggestion. Just because something is good does not constitute difficulty in construction.
And correct me if I am wrong with facts, but some longbows were specifically designed for long distance warfare....watch any medieval war movie and you'll always see the archers light up each other's armies first, launching arrows hundreds of yards. Braveheart is a good example.
As for one arrow kills, its a matter of simple physics. An arrow can accel at an unnatural velocity and is most often aimed upwards for increased height and therefore distance. An arrow that reached 100 m off the ground for example at its pinnacle will then fall back to the earth at a rate of 9.81 meters per second^2. So by the time it would strike someone, it is definately a deadly projectile.
Facts. All facts. They help defend your argument too.

I wasent saying that you COULDN'T kill with one arrow.. i was saying that AFTER SO MANY YARDS YOU WOULD BE INACURATE AND WOULD NEED EITHER A SUPER COMPUTER BRAIN OR A BAND OF 10-30 PEOPLE TO GET THE WYDE SPREAD DISTRUCTION NEEDED TO KILL ONE PERSON WHEN ACURASY HAS FAILD!!!!
And... its all about BALANCING!!! If a lazer beam was easy to make, and it could destroy cantr in an instant, then a newby could get ahold of it and he could distroy cantr, and then we wouldn't have to worry about erasing anyones caracter in an armegedin just to implement somthing anymore.

Guns are being considered by staff to some degree.
A simple bit of suggestion Pie: make a suggestion, state your reasons for liking it, and leave it at that. Useless arguing over minute details does not help the advance of any suggestion. The best way to implement something is to offer a solid idea with a good foundation of reasoning. Let's move on with new weapon suggestions.

Here is my complete gun suggestion:
Gune will be powerful, yes, but not too powerful. They can do a significant amount of damage, but not as much as an expert swordsman can do. For example and expert with a sabre can do 50+ damage. Guns should be made to do a smaller amount. Let's use 40 as our hypothetical damage rate But one thing. Guns will always do the same damage, no matter who uses them. The most they can do is 40. The least they can do is 40. The skill levels will determine how likely it is to hit someone.
Awkward: 10%
Novice: 25%
Efficient: 50%
Skilled: 75%
Expert 90%
Also, guns will need multiple parts (stock, barrel, trigger, hammer, etc.) and will require two new resources: gunpowder (or whatever it is made of) and flint.
There will also be two seperate objects. Gun. Loaded Gun. Loaded Gun can be used as a weapon once. After that, one must do a project to load it again (gunpowder, flint, bullet). The project will not take long. A minute at most.
1690-4: You see a man in his thirties shoot a man in his twenties using a Loaded Gun.
1690-4: You see a man in his thirties load a Gun.
1690-4: You are shot by a man in his thirties. You lose 40 health. Your shield was ineffective against the blow.
It should also be made so that guns guns destroy weak shield, such as bone and wood, but have a small chance of being reflected by an iron shield.
Now THAT is a good suggestion, wouldn't you agree?

The damage rate should still vary; there would be some small chance the shot could make the damge a little less or more than the hypothetical fourty due to these examples of possibilities: the shot could almost miss but merely graze or pass through the skin, the shot could strike the vital part of the body (assuming that there is a vital part of the Cantr-human body), and so on.

I'm not sure if this thread has strayed it's title, but I'd like to see a blackjack get introduced. I think it's also been called a sapper.
Since this weapon was intended to incapacitate rather than kill, it could dramatically increase the targets tiredness, or maybe temporarily lower their skill levels to awkward if successful.

yeah a flamethrower would be cool, and there should definatly be a weapon that can destroy buildings, like a catupult for the cavemen, and bazookas for the more advanced civilisations
