And Floris, I found your post about the Spanish and Dutch chars extremely interesting...I wonder if that's something that could cause tension and conflict in the future? Have a few foreign traders show up in your little village, and before long your language group is the minority because all of these newspawns who talk just like them are popping up all over the place, and they're instantly more loyal to the people they can understand then to the leader of the town, plus you have no idea what they're saying to each other or what they could be planning...

Exactly!

Luckily, my character carries a steel battle axe and there are a few other citizens that are active enough to keep the town the way it is. Somehow there is developing a double society, with the people that understand each other talking to each other, with the occasional enthusiast translator helping out.

Last I heard, the Russian area was in danger of being in that situation with English colonization. Not many active players there.

Yes, the Russians are getting scarily close to the English, while not being populous enough to 'compete' in any sense ... Which is a pity. I don't think Russian will ever come up properly in Cantr, unless we had some players like PRUT and KeVes in Russian who advocate it everywhere ;) ...

 The English colonists shouldn't try to exterminate them - they would be like roaches, as soon as you kill one, another one pops out. After all, they don't have any other spawnplaces.

Exactly why the English will try to exterminate them.

Or... do they end up forming the local caveman union?
