Swimming

Postby thingnumber2 » Mon Dec 08, 2003 2:33 am

I was thinking, it would be kinda cool if you could swim a short distance...for instance, if you wanted to jump off a boat, and swim to the nearby shore, or swim out to a ship...

For that, we would need free walking around, I think. But I like the idea :)

hehe, well an idea on how it could work.... some things in your posseision would be ruined like certain foods and notes maybe. Also you could not eat while swimming making it not a good idea to swim if you were weak or for long distances, also maybe you strength goes down slowly, like an event hapens... You see the cold water attack a man in his twenties.

Also, maybe some kind of option to dive down, but you can only stay down for a certain amount of time...it would be useful, for instance, if you wanted your pirate crew to swim to shore underwater (,aybe reeds could be used to increase your time under water), than, when it's least expected pop out of the water and loot the town....

just a quick question while people are talking about water why can't you fish from a boat if you have a fiching pole or spear?
ok maybe not a spear but why not if you elect to sit and fish for say 6 hours you get a random amount of fish caught in that time ?

I'd like that a lot...
it'd help while away the tedious days of sailing.

indeed would also open up a new specilaty for people since they could make say a long boat and spend three day's at sea fishing or such.plus then we'd really have something to do with our spare time like sit on the sea shore and fish ot lake shore

Orion,
If your moving along at a good clip does this prevent fishing?
I know you can move and fish with a pole but how fast is impratical for ever catching anything?

hrm, I'm not too sure, but 5 knots seems about right for top fishing speed
