Favorite Types of Characters

Postby Coramon » Thu Jan 19, 2006 3:44 am

I was noticing that on Cantr there are many types of characters, and I was wondering if anybody wanted to discuss their favorite types of characters. I'd definitely say that religious fanaticals are really fun to play, (especially when they get executed etc.) , but what is more fun to play against? When I say types of characters I mean everything from; optimistic to a pirate-like :? character. So what is the most fun to play, and what is the most fun to play with?

When you're able to have the personal time to devote to town/continent leaders, they're the most fun to play.

I really enjoy playing against the charries that want to hoard everything, greedy bastards that want everything for themselves. Exiling them to be lost and rendered into boar chow is my favorite show.
Reality was never my strong point.

Entrepreneurs, employees, and thieves with slightly off personalities. The ones that make a 'dime a dozen' type interesting and fun. But who aren’t out and out crazies.

Nice, absolutely beautiful.

Some of my favorite characters to play have been those involved in complex intrigues and manipulation.

It's fun being a leader, or even better - the person that pulls the strings of the actual leader.

Pirate's are fun as well. Calico Jack was one of my favorite characters to play (right after Lady Jessamin Mac Gregor).

My favorite Charris to RP against? Active ones.... any of them... from the lowest on the food chain to the leader of the town. My most fav, is the ones who think ahead, and have a plan for life..what they want to do..prepare for things that are coming up.

Right now, my fav charri is my mute as she is the most challenging...as I stated in another thread, she communicates through gestures, not notes.

I like playing "weird", conflicting characters. Like a woman who needs to act strong all the time though feeling lost and vulnerable inside. Or a guy who acts like a macho but is a romantic softie inside. Naïve characters that can be fooled, abused, made to believe things. Cunning characters that toy with others without letting them know. Everything has at least two sides or layers, preferably more.

I love to play retards. It is a break from my real life of working on my PhD listening to other people brag about how brilliant they think their own work is. I also think they are a good stimulus for the society simulator aspect of the game. It is fun to see how different towns react to the disabled across the game, and how successful these characters can become.

I have several of them running around out there now. The only one I talk about OOC much is, of course, Kabong. :D I hate to let the interpretations to their jumbled communication leak out, because it is so much fun for me to watch other characters interacting with them trying to figure out what they are trying to say, or waiting for them to take advantage of them in trading or defenselessness, etc.

Having said that....like nutters, there are also some horribly played retards out there, so I hope I am not encouraging any more excuses for random noise to be cluttering our events screens. :?

Ah, the "caveman-speech"-chars, gotta love them, when played well.
And also those chars higher on the ladder of evolution, who manage to interact with the caveman- or cavewoman-chars in ways that most people IRL wouldn't even want to attempt.
Inspired by another char that one of my chars gets to deal with every day I decided to think up a caveman-char of my own.
When one of my chars croaked, I decided to go ahead with the caveman, ended up having to run because in my spawningplaceplace some arrogant chars decided to just kill the caveman, got saved when ending up five towns further (quite a trip with nothing in the inventory except for two notes).
And wouldn't you know it, after almost 40 days (Cantr-time) in that town I find out that there's already another caveman-ish char who's been living there for a long time.
No interaction between the two yet, but I've been thinking of how that would end up being played, with both having a different style of broken language.

Hm... MTV Deathmatch: Caveman Clobbering?
Or... do they end up forming the local caveman union?
