That's what I've been saying. In fact, that's what the whole topic is about.

And what I keep saying is you cannot have people going around preaching about fearing deities that come out of the blue, telling people what to do. Most early religions are not that preachy.

Can't have Catholiscism like religions before you have just normal stories to explain existence. Everyone wants to be the religious despot guy without putting in the work to explain the world first.

Everyone just tries to jump right into "You have displeased the great deity man. You shall burn in hell if you do not listen to me and atone for your sins."

But the reaction that gets is first, "I've never heard of the Deity Man, and if he exists, he's never done anything to do with me."

And secondly "You're going to tell me what to do, eh crazy man? You say I will be punished by the devine if I don't? Well you'll be punished by my knife if you don't shut up and stop telling me what to do. How's that sound?"

It's the reason why nobody listens to the crazy preachers on the streets and in metro stations.

Oh, sorry that you have to repeat that. Yeah, I agree with you, religions just don't initiate out of nowhere. Starting religions may seem to work just like making a persuasive essay. And what better to persuade people from an essay by making an interesting story out of one?

Why be sorry? You didn't do anything, and even if you did, why would you care? I know I wouldn't.

And perhaps you repeated what was said earlier, but no one can expect you to read through five pages of internet discussion. That would be boring. I never do. Staring at this forum screen is like looking at a godamn oven light.

But see, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Right on, man. It seems not many people get it.

Exactly what I was talking about.

:) I think i've got the beginings of what could be a pretty good religion in Zuzi... if i do say so myself...

Everythings gone pretty well for me so far... a couple of actual miracles, a few followers, and it looks like im getting the belief of a few people who aren't actualy part of it.

I've got to say i'll be a bit anoyed if it all falls apart... i've put quite a bit of effort into working out the teachings and making the writings. But if it keeps going like it has i can see it becoming a major part of the area... :D

Just make sure it doesn't get in the way of other peoples goals.
That can kill a religion pretty fast.

It's pretty obvious you try to get along with the people around. We attack a defenseless girl and you people are like, ok, so she must be possessed. You might want to question things sometimes, otherwise the world will never be changed.

Bump....

One of my characters has started a.... lets say..... interesting religion. It only really involves her, and she has a follower, which is interesting, as it doesn't really involve him. But people are starting to get angry at her because she says that they are all dead :( , anyway, it's my first person that I've tried to start a religion with and so far it seems to be going pretty smoothly

You mean the character that talks about the characters as virtual, that people control them? She explained very well the Cantr game. I was very annoyed by that character, both as a player and as a character. It kind of takes the fun out of the game you know...I just feel like taking my bastard sword and showing the real meaning of woe.

Ok, good. You didn't seem like someone who would do that. It seems like at least a partial CRB.

Good point, I'll see about making my characters a little more intrigued by the big questions and strange things in Cantr
