Thank you. I agree.

Constructive dialogue is for hippies.

Also, Wichita admitted that it was there, and that's all I wanted.

Sure, perhaps he lied, but did Pol Pot care that all the confessions prisoners gave his questioners were lies? Of course not.

Waaahooo!
Let me just say, that this discussion makes for some incredibly entertaining reading. I have read every single post on all four pages, and enjoyed every minute of it. Now, it is time for my opinion:

I haven't been playing Cantr for very long, so, of course, I haven't been a witness to "corruption" and "abuse" of any sort. I do, however, believe that it is inevitable that it will happen. When someone is put into a position on the PD, they are entrusted with a lot more than the ordinary players are. With this extra "power" to influence others, for lack of a better word, comes the potential to abuse that which they have been entrusted with. If I was to bear witness to, and recognise, behaviour such as this, I would, most certainly, notify someone, or some department, about it. Who I would notify, however, I don't know, but still, I would sincerely hope that the issue would be dealt with quickly and efficiently.

Feel free to comment on what I have just said. In fact, it would be very helpful if you would, because I love to hear the opinions of others. That is why, of course, I have enjoyed reading this thread. But, when commenting and posting, let's act like civilised people, eh?

So, In few words... you're trying to say :"Who controls the actions of characters of PD's players?"

Well, I suppose theirselves do. That's their job. And I assume they do it impartially in the best way.

Then?

Well when my characters get in power they are always trustworthy and never even think about doing anything suspicious, this really reflects my personality, and if I were in the Players Department I wouldn't even consider cheating- but then again one of my main intentions for ever working for Cantr would be to repay some of the fun and enjoyment Cantr's given me. :D

I think that RP shold not be an excuse for having two chars at the same place and helping each other. There must be certain lines that should not be crossed and if we are to make exceptions, this rule will fall for sure.

I fully agree, its far easier to RP a reason not to go somewhere than to go somewhere and then have both your active characters either go quiet or start having massive conversaqtions with themselves..

All cases of this sort are handled by the PD on a case by case basis.

And how in that case it is necessary to act?

I really hope this is the case.... How much weight is given to precedent?

If cases were equal, it would be expected that they would be dealt with in a manner based on precident, but I have yet to encounter two cases that are exactly alike.

What I'd like to know is... do PD members ever read people's private events for personal entertainment? I doubt anyone would have the balls to confess such a thing, but for example when you see people having lenghtly whispering sessions in public, or vanishing into buildings, at least I often get the feeling that I'd like to see what they're really doing.

Seko, such things are logged. PD member can only read events related to the case. If PD Chair or GAB sees such overuse, the member is going to have troubles.

I havent played cantr for quite some time, depressed that my chars died the day before I got back on the internet.. I do have to say though that at one time I was part of the PD and if there someone was abusing their powers they would be found out.. PD does investigate their own if there seems to be a problem. If you play the game the way you are supposed to with no cheating, then you will have nothing to worry about..
