There been(?) I the (maal=something to do with "language") at once?

On second thought, I retract my point about Dutch and Swedes understanding each others.

I believe that would mean "I agree with that". I don't know Dutch either, just guessing, based on German and particularly the Low German dialects.

Does anyone know what was the purpose of putting two different language-zones on one land when there are few characters of either of this languages ?
In such conditions many players may prefer to talk with English to make game more interesting than stay silent ....

I don't know if there was any purpose per se - I'm guessing the powers that be just didn't have enough large landmasses to put spawning sites on.

Most players, as far as I can tell, would find a communication problem with languages to be more interesting than breaking rules and speaking English (even if they could - far from all the foreign-language players know English). They may complain loudly about it, and maybe have their characters launch ethnic-cleansing campaigns, but they'll find it challenging.

Totally wrong assumption.

Right now, there's a guy speaking English on the same island as the Dutch and French. We're having a nice english-dutch conversation.

My character got directions and a map of an English speaking island that's less than 2 years sailing from the French-Dutch island. It's far from impossible that there have been previous contacts between the different languages.

Yeah, I landed a character on the french Island with the idea of improving my french (which is woeully poor) only to find everyone speaking Dutch (or is it German?)

I haven't got a hope have I ... :?
