NastySteve wrote:Very funny... but since the charactors are in charactor the mention of Africa would have you in the Capital Breach thread before you could blink twice.

Within a day or two it would be locked and a vague promise that some asspirant member was "looking into it".

As an older player I have noticed that most of you teen and early 20 aged players are super sensitive to rules. Both passing them and following them. Once you get to be my age, 38, these kinds of rule quoteing nazi-isms will get on your nerves.

Seko, great job.

1. It's a comic strip. If we can criticize the breaching of capital rules in comic strips, then we should criticize the fact that Garfield talks. Comedy embraces a great mix of truth and absurdity, which Seko does quite well here, so I say, so what?

2. As an "older" player of 38, why are you pointing out a CR breach in a comic strip on one hand, then stating how rule quoting gets on your nerves on the other?

3. I've seen many "younger" players that are not sensitive to rules at all, and as an "older" player (a year more than your age), I appreciate relatively strong adherence to rules. Sometimes they have to be quoted to remind people they are there. If we can't adhere to rules, why have them? And without rules, this game just plain wouldn't work.
Beatings will continue until morale improves!!

A man in his twenties says: “*ping* Hi I’m Matt and I’m new here. Does anyone have a job for me?”

I had to fight the incredible urge to spawn a new char and use that quote, word for word.
Fortune Cookie Says:
You should consider a career change, you'd make an excellent doormat.

NastySteve, um... what's an asspirant?
Now that I asked it, I'm suddenly no longer sure I want to know...

And that ic/ooc breach regarding Africa... well, I've seen places get renamed to irl places when the name system changed.
"El Dorado", being one of them, and a double whammy by those standards you brought up:
1. named after an ooc-place.
2. named after an ooc-place in a language that nobody on that island, as far as I know, has mastered enough to come up with that name.

But, because it actually helps the roleplay of several people, and some other reasons that I can't quite put to words, as a player I like that place.
And three of my chars who have visited it have fond memories of their individual times there, while two others who ended up being there in the same timeframe ended up getting not-so-fond memories of it (due to the reason I had to come up with for not making them have to do any work together by the ones who were their superiors at that time).

As for the comic:
Awesome!
Heh....

This is not exactly part of the canon, just a random bit that came from wondering how one can push a hand cart while riding it. Combined with the not so unusual Cantr fashion of wearing a fur undershirt with no pants.

Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

Even more awkward: Your ringtone being "I Will Survive"

The most awkward: Coming back after a 10+ year hiatus and swearing I'd never come back.

Just because I'm not paying attention doesnt mean you can yell at me.

It means you should talk quieter.
Seriously shut up, I'm playing here.
