I like this idea, its a useful one for those characters who perhaps need a bit of help RPing in a prison... Shackles on a wall would make for some interesting prison buddies...

"ERROR- You cannot pick up the resource because you are shackled to the wall."
"Error- You cannot hit that person because you are shackled to a wall."

You feel like your imprisoned, rather than inconvenienced...

I like the idea in a cruel, sadistic way. It'd be a fun RP both to have slaves and to be enslaved. I hope it's obvious that I'd never support either in reality.

You think it would be fun as a slave? I think almost everyone else would just let that character die..

I would play a slave if the slavemaster was a good RP'er and it was made clear that the abuse is against the character, not the player. You can play very nasty and unfair things but still keep respect to the player. Just when there's no OOC contact, people tend to take things personally and get hurt.

But what is there to play? Your char would probably be put on an enormous project, get food supplied, and every time he tried to get off the project would be re-captured easily... he could refuse to work, perhaps, but that is equivalent to letting him die of starvation.

It's my experience that most mature characters (really meaning the players, of course) keep their wills to live even if captured and enslaved. This would probably still be the case even with additional restraints on the slaves.

well we never had slavery in canada and it's been voted the best country in the world a few times and to be honest part of our history was to fight slavery i say bring it on i'll kill you and your slaves if i must free them one way or the other.

and just so you know i have seen it in game and my chars have been know to fight to the death when there moral views are in jepordy

A favorite qoute of mine was from a girl around here who was tied up and forced to do things agianst her will by her sister and her husband and in the end they killed her because as she said in her own words "some things are worth dieing for"
