Lumin flinches and her hand automatically flies to her rifle at the sound of the scream.

At Seko's words she takes a steadying breath. "Yes, Major," she says, after a moment.

She stands up, looking none to happy with the situation.

"This seems like a trap to me. I don't really know how much chance there is of a member of the personel surviving this long." She turns to the scientists, "Do you know if there're other places here besides the panic rooms were someone could have safely hidden out?"

Facing Seko, she says, "But all right then, who do you want to stay and who do you want to go? Just give me the order. Unless the Colonel has a different plan..."

He turns towards the Major after having finished greeting the other members of Bravo team and the medic who have recently arrived
You're right Major Seko.
Sargeant Nixit, take Alpha team and Medic Steve, see if you can help whoever that was. Stick together, look sharp, and return the moment you find anything. The radios are out, so I want you back within the hour, that scream was nearby, there should be no need for you to be gone long.

In the meantime, we will use this room as a secure, temporary Command Post until we can find a way up to the second floor. If anyone leaves it, they leave it as a member of their team, No one is to be out in the facility by themselves.

Considering that our walkies seem to be malfunctioning, I don't want any team out of sight and hearing of this room for more than a couple of hours.

He turns towards Lumin
Corporal Lumin, take the Special Ops team to the main elevator shaft, it's just down the hall, you won't be far from here. See if you can find a way of getting access to the shaft, if we can't get power, we'll need to find an alternative route out of here, and that shaft may be our best option. Check for maintenance access, and the stability of the cables.

He turns towards the Doctors
What can you tell us about this floor? Are there any other security rooms apart from this one? We're going to need some more flares soon... Are there any places where someone may have survived, or where any... experiments... might be using to hide?

(OOC: if the teams split up and are headin to different parts of the facility - without radio contact, would it be best to have a different topic for each team? That way their interaction would be seperate (and unknown) to the other teams. And it might get confusing to have it all in one topic. Let me know what you think and I'll split / sticky any topics as required)

She nods and heads to the door, pausing just outside. "Pie, Luncid, you ready?"

Giving them a sharp look, she adds, "And regardless of your feelings for each other, do try to keep a lid on it while we do this."

[OOC: It's really up to AoM, but I don't think a topic split will be necessary. Muck Pond seems to manage okay with one thread, and the storylines there are a lot more complicated than this. Everyone just remember who's in their group and don't try to talk to anyone outside it.]

[Also, should we wait for a description of the areas we'll be in, or just wing it?]

He nods, loads his sidearm, and motions to Lurker, Bluenine, and Steve to follow him.

"Let's go. We have to be silent, though, you all know your training. Steve, take the rear, and if any fighting comes up, I would run back here. We don't want you getting hurt." He coughs again, though this time not on purpose. "Excuse me about that cough. Alright, the Alpha team is moving out."

He takes a breath, and waves his radio. "Be ready to use this." He starts to move slowly down the corridor where the noises were.

No, Bluenine, why would we need a code? I would have thought it'd be quite clear if one of us had been attacked by a... whatever it is that might be here...

He motions to the Alpha Team as they head out of the door

Some of you have reported malfunctioning walkies. Can we all check them to make sure they're active. If they start malfunctioning, return here immediately.

He unclips the radio from his belt and places it on-top of the blueprints
Report in with any developments, I want regular radio contact with anyone outside of this room.

"I'm not all that familiar with this part of the building... it's the lycanthropy department you see. I know there is a cafeteria... down the corridor, and, I think, to the left. Yes, left, that's right. Not many places to hide there though.. I suppose the kitchen might provide some hiding places. Now the next floor up, the vampiric laboratories, I know that floor like the back of my hand."

[OOC: Note I said the next "floor" up, not "level"]

She quickly loads her sidearm, and begins creeping down the corridor after Sgt. Nixit

(For Pie, Leo Luncid, and Lumin (Special Ops))

The three of you exit the security room and make a right down the main corridor heading for the stairs that will take you to this level's elevator, walking in the opposite direction of whoever is crying for help. One of you throws a flare to keep the passageway lit and as far as you can see, there is no movement down the tunnels. You make good time, and reach the elevator without too much incident.

The elevator is situated on a landing at the end of the main corridor. There is a stairway leading up to what you assume are the vampiric laboratories. You've just come from the stairway leading down to the lycanthropy labs. The elevator door is shut.

(For Nasty Steve and Alpha Team (Nixit, Bluenine, and Lurker))

After finding out that the short distance walkie talkies seem to be functioning, you move down the corridor to the sound of the voice. The further you move down this corridor, the more bodies you begin to see... most look like lab technicians but then you begin to see corpses wrapped in dark robes that look as if they've been clawed to death. One such body seems to have been smashed and indented into the side paneling of the corridor.

The moaning gets louder and a tossed flare reveals a dark-robed woman with sunken eyes and a very pale complexion lying on the ground at the end of the corridor. The bottom half of her body seems to be crushed under fallen debris.

"H.. help me! Please! Please I... I think my legs are broken..."

She studies the elevator for a moment before turning to the others. "So, now what? I suppose we could try to blow the doors open, though I hate to risk any major structural damage. We still need to use the thing, after all."

She glances nervously down the dark hall. "And I'd definitely prefer not to advertise our presence anymore than necessary."

With fewer people around, Dr. Fleegleton is visibly more nervous than before.

"I hope they're good at what they do." he commented. "I don't envy them one bit, no sir."

Fleegleton coughs loudly.

Nixit grimaces as he sees the first few bodies, but he continues to move on. Once he reaches the woman, he looks around and whispers to his team, "Okay, Alpha Team, lets all try and get this debris off her as quickly and quietly as we can. Once she's free, we'll drag her out, and carry her back. Steve will inspect him back where our meeting place is."

After giving orders, he takes out his walkie-talkie and reports their news back to Farmer. Then he begins to quietly get rid of the debris.

She stands a good distance away, looks warily at the woman, sidearm still at the ready, as Sgt. Nixit begins to clear away the debris.

"Begging ya pardon, Sarge, hate ta play the devil's advocit and all, but... how do we know she's for real? I mean, what if she's a monster, unfortunitly caught unda some rubble? Or, maybe it's just a trick and her legs aren't broken at all? We'd look like damn fools, saving a fecking vamp."

(For Steve and Alpha Team)

"I...I'm not a vamp..." the woman stammers, "I'm from the city... they forced me to join their cult, it was either that or become their next meal... I wanted to get away, I really did-- OW!!" she howls as Nixit removes a large bit of paneling that had been deeply imbedded in her leg.

"I just... I just don't want to die...not down here, not in the dark..." she begins to sob.
