Breaks? Breaks?
Resting is for the decadent and bourgeois! You are a drag on the revolution! A relic of the old ways.
But not to worry, comrade. Some friendly members of the Citzens Revolutionary Guard have been dispatched to your home to escort you to the nearest community center for re-education. We'll soon have you put right.
Long live the revolution!
Can you tell I'm bored?

Fleegle, I was just wondering if perhaps I could have changed the story a slight bit.
Now, I don't mean to be cheap at all, and it's not as though I'm against characters dieing, but I thought that maybe MushBall could have prevented Vex and Xev's death, seeing as he could have teleported both of those soldiers once more (Or is it one once and the other two, or vice versa? I can't quite recall.) he might have made them incapable of hurting Vex and Xev, or giving them time to escape.
I was just wondering if I could have done that, rather than have him killed, just because it seems probable to me that that is what MushBall would do.
If not, doesn't matter, it was just a thought.

What I think you are failing to consider is that those five spearmen had been approaching Vex/Xev for some time while MushBall was dealing with the other two spearmen. Enough time passed for MushBall to regain his composure after being stabbed in the side. Remember that this is a battle and many things are happening at once. Plus, MushBall can only teleport one at a time, he can't do mass teleports. So even if he had teleported one, there were still four that could reach Vex/Xev.
I really see Vex/Xev's death as being somewhat inevitable.

A two-headed turtle, even if imbued with powers of resurrection, is sort of a lame combat animal. It was that or hide in the shell, which would have gotten them killed anyway.
But, now I get a new char... oooo... gonna have to sleep on this one

Leo: Yeah, I don't mind that your character can't mind-speak. The whole mind-speech stuff is really just there for the player's benefit... it solves a host of problems related to how creatures without mouths, etc. can communicate with others. However, if you prefer not to do that, that's perfectly okay with me.
I would like you to clarify something though... can the construct understand what Ilosep and others are saying? I mean not through mind-speech (well, that too) but through ordinary speech? Because Ilosep was not mind-speaking when he told the construct to come inside.
I'm not going to bother editting the earlier post where Ilosep interacted with it. Since my gods aren't omniscient we'll just chalk it up to Ilosep not realizing the construct has an, er, impediment shall we say? He'll figure it out soon enough.
I'm not going to incorporate your suggestions for why the construct can't mind-speak, since it doesn't fit in to my overall scheme. We'll just say he has a disability of sorts.

Thanks for accepting that Fleegle. Yes, my construct can understand both ordinary and mind speech, as long it's in the language those of the Muck Pond are born with, am I right? However it could only communicate through it's gestures; it can't even make expressions on it's iron face.

Fine with me.
Edit: Whoops. Actually I initially thought my character would not be able to hear anyone who is mind-speaking, and I hope that could be applied.
