Movies
I just bought and saw "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". It was a really good movie and better than I had expected. I am now waiting for the first rated R Disney movie as this one was pretty close to an R rating and it seems lately that the Disney movies are getting higher ratings like most of their animation movies are being rated PG instead of G.
Some of the best movies I have ever seen are;
Gangs of New York
Michael Collins
American Beauty
Both Lord of the Rings
Blade Runner
Black Hawk Down
The Postman
Gettysburg
Gods and Generals
Backdraft
Road Warrior
Mad Max
We Were Soldiers
Tears of the Sun
Road to Perdition
Minority Report
Gladiator
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The Count of Monte Cristo
Braveheart
The Bourne Identity
Die Hard Movies
There are three more but I just can't think of them at the moment. Hamidigo (Sp?) about a cowboy who use to race horse and was a legend at it but became a wash up as he grew older. He is hired to race in a horse race across the Arabian Desert but ends up saving a princess or something. It's suppose to be based ona true story and stars Viggo Mortenson as the main character. Return of the King. Must I say more. And The Last Samurai about an American Civil War veteran who is hired by a Japanese lord to train his military and modernize his army which is also based on a true story and stars Tom Cruise as the main character. They all look like great movies

I'm not an action/sci-fi/war movie type person. I like comedy.
Here's a list of some of my favorite movies:
Miss Congeniality
What Women Want
Save the Last Dance
Charlie's Angels (1, because 2 sucked)
Monsters, Inc.
Shrek
Bicentennial Man
Enough
Stepmom
Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood
Riding in Cars with Boys
Dude, Where's my Car? (Dude, what does mine say? Sweet, what does mine say? LOL)
Return to Me
Bringin' Down the House
Just Married
And the list could go on forever--LOL
I'm the romantic comedy type.

hmmm....I did forget about Shrek, Monsters, Inc., and Goonies. I have to say that most comedies are not that great. Great to watch the first time and have a good laugh but there are very few that you can watch over and over again and continue to laugh plus there isn't much depth into comedies so there isn't really much of rewatchable factor involved.
Great comedies;
Anything by Monty Python
The Red Green Show
Army of Darkness
Lampoon movies but only the best like Animal House or Christmas Vacation

Actually I was referring to the National Lampoons Family Christmas Vacation but what you are looking for is the classic, the Christmas Story. Now that one is a classic and great movie. But I do think they over do it every Christmas. It's on like everyday, on every channel for about the next 20 days and then they show it for 24 hours not on one but three different channels. A little too much but I have seen people watch all 24 hours. Sickening, isn't it?

Hildago - well the true story is actually a bunch of talls tales told by the one guy and his wife. Someone took them at face value - without finding documentation and it went from there.
There was never any record of him working for Buffalo Bill - and they had employee records down the lowest hands.
There is no record of the desert race - that was apparently held every year for 300 years. You think the people in the middle east might know about one ya know. Not to mention the probability of a Paint horse beating out a bunch of Arabian horses (who are bred to run long distance) on their home turf - is highly unlikely.
There is no record of him or a horse named Hildago winning any of the hundreds of endurance races, as he claimed.
Anyone doing a little reasearch could have found out thse facts. But because ONE author took it all for face value it gave the tales some credence.
I could go on but I would bore you all. And I'm still going to see the movie - just because it's about a horse, and well Viggo. But I wish they wouldn't claim the true story bit.
