Management Praise!

Postby Mafia Salad » Tue Nov 29, 2005 3:40 am

I like the whole RP Praise idea, but I think there are plenty of great players who aren’t the most dynamic noticeable RPers but are simply managing their city/business/religious order/ etc. and doing a really good job of it. (and of course those who do a great job of both)

To promote good Management I thought it would be nice to have a topic where you can give some much deserved props to people who play well.

To start off I’d like to give a hand to the player of Chief Senator Jules Vernes in Karnon. He’s involved on so many levels of the government and is one of the biggest reason that Karnon continues to grow in power.

Disagreed. The man wants power. Nothing else. He's a control freak. Jules is the reason Karnon is what it is today. Which is why so many people hate it so much. They try to keep the 'Republic' they worked so hard to create, but Jules is the one that makes it so difficult.

But most the citizens of Karnon don't hate it. The other power hungry people are the ones that hate him the most because he's doing a better job than them and moving in on their turf.

Well, from inside and out, I have had several reasons to become annoyed with Jules. :D

I would just like to take this time to praise Mary Williams for the most beautifully effective management I have seen anywhere. It almost brings a tear to the eye to see it in action.

You know, that sounded more like an agreement than a disagreeement.
Just from a different perspective.

Dementia Bobert, who was one of the few people who has ever surpassed my expectations when delegated such a responsibility.

And Ryoko of Aki definitely showed a lot of promise, thus why my character left her with all the necessary things to build an empire of that island.

Finally, I also have a lot of confidence in Darlina and Jennie MacGregor. As you can see, my characters surround themselves amongst very able personalities.

Now, a nice topic to have would be "Leader Failures" (i.e. Lord Archorn of DHW, Drew McKenzie of Naron, etc)

I have to agree with Mary Williams. People may not like her, and may be conspiring to kill her, but she gets the job done.

Michael Hart was always a pleasure to work for in Siom.

Jacques Montblanc of Olip west was a great employer as well, perhaps more so than Michael, as Jacques is not so far flung.
Reality was never my strong point.

Hehehe, yes, in my ex-CRBing nooblet newspawn rage, I plotted to kill her so many times! I had something like... 3? characters in or moving towards there. Hell! I even tried persuading my friend (who was a ranger) to kill her at the time!

But now I don't hate her OOC as I did. I realise and understand the mechanics of this game, as per my apology. And, of course, if I saw her in one of my newspawns I'd have no motive whatsoever to do anything.

But more to the point... yeah, hehe, she's a very iron-fisted ruler.

Mary Williams has nothing compared to JoJo - he ran the forest as no other....I was in awe of his energy.

I have to agree with the praise of Jacques Montblanc. He made trading possible, and thus possible to acquire iron and steel (and now that metal making speed has been increased, I am sure his trading has paid off big). He knows how to interest people in working for him.

I am just in awe, Jaques is in his eighties or seventies, and when he dies... I want to be in the will! Ha! Fat chance. :'(
No, but seriously, that's probably a million grams of iron! (and steel)

I figured this thread could use a bump. Though unfortunately I can't really contribute to it, most of the town leaders I know of spend the majority of their time sleeping, meaning their underlings who are actually awake can't get much of anything done, since they're constantly waiting for answers to questions, permission to do things, keys, etc..
