Cantr: Obsession or Time Killer?

Bit of both for me, 'cause i work a lot of night shifts in a bar i dont got much to do during the day, everyone being at work and daytime tv....urgggh....

I've gone through varying stages of obsession and resignation over the past 3+ years...there've been months where I logged on constantly, every day, between classes and meals and constantly on weekends, even losing sleep/skipping classes when something really important is going on.

And then there've been weeks or months where I can't be bothered to log on at all, whether because I'm too busy or I just don't want to, any more than is necessary to make sure my chars don't die. I'm sure those are frustrating to other players, and when other people do it it frustrates me. But sometimes it has to be done.

Now, cutting down and minimizing, I usually find time to log on a few times a day and do what needs to be done. I'm enjoying playing again, which is nice, and slowly getting rid of my characters that are actually "important", which is nice too. I'm too busy IRL to be important IC. Now I mostly just play fun characters.

But yes. Obsessed, I've been.

Yup, that's pretty much the same cycle for me.
I figure any oldbie must have similar cycles.
These days I login pretty much everyday, but that pretty much means I don't do much unless my characters are in mortal peril, in which case I will be glued to the screen indefinately.

I've always logged in several times a day (computer and Internet access providing), though obviously I haven't logged in now for about 20 days (I got my inactivity notice today! Go me!).

Definatly an obsession. Though I have wife, car and friends!

I compulsivley log on, like 5 minutes after I logged off! Its great when I'm working or out doing stuff, I have more to catch up on when I get back on the pc.

cantr was a one shot addiction lol
true there are times my chars have a heavy case of sleeping sickness if RL becomes too overwealming that i can't even focus on my beloved gaming and i even lost one char to starvation this way and it also woke me up and got me back playing before all my hcars starved or equipment crumbled in thier hands. ... also a few may have met me in chat and they could tell you the way i was a few days ag that cantr is more than obsession for me

Its a reacurring obsession, I just have to moderate the load of cantr I get so I don't get bored with it, so far all I've done is limit myself to 4 characters.
