Oh, that's so sad that Phoenix died. I think my character in Siom knew him (he's the Phoenix with the REALLY long name, yes?)

No, not that Phoenix, the Phoenix with a really long name is alive and healthy. But Jonas Kooth, renamed Phoenix by Firethorn, died some time ago.

... Heck, your male character might be assaulted by another man ...

So true... so true... which is why one of my chars is now staying as far to the east of Kwor as he can, where people don't know him and most likely haven't heard what went on during his first and last voluntary resource run.
Sure, the attacker failed to get his groove on, so to say, but still... my char wasn't exactly proud of the fact that such a fight took place at all, regardless the fact that he successfully defended himself.
In his mind it means the other man thought of him as feminine...

(maybe a good point to turn my char into a psychologically messed up guy... heh... the extremes of madness would probably be easier to play than the nuances of shame.)

Oh, and to keep with the topic of the thread, I play mixed gender chars, yep... one's a bit of a boy-ish woman, not really a tomgirl but... well, how can I explain it.
Then there's two who are rather plain women, not based on anyone.
One of those two is a successful huntress, great at making tools and weapons, but just as pleased to make clothing, farm for food (though she isn't exactly that good at farming... well, it's safe to say she sucks at it) or anything else.
And another woman was a bit of a mix in character between my mother, an aunt, and my ex... but she had the bad luck of being Dutch and spawning in a place that seemed to be French, she wanted to leave that place and only found a few abandoned places with no food, grew weak, and the wild animals finished her off.
