That is the way things are. I am too sleepy to decide whether that is the way they should be.

What is? That I can't dock, that they don't seem to be moving or that i shouldn't be able to dock if they were moving? Wake up before answering please. ;)

Is there a manual or something for boat navigation? I looked in the wiki, but that didn't help this situation much.

From your description of events Echoman this is exactly as it should be

When a docking process is initiated the first check whether the target is close enough that the docking attempt can be made immediately , if it is then the docking is successful.

If not then the docking attempt is tested next time sailing is processed (once per Cantr hour/turn) .

Then, if the target is close enough, the docking is successful. If the target has moved during that time then the docking is cancelled and you see the
message you described. If the target has not moved then then the Docking procedure is is checked at the next turn.

Boats which are docking themselves count as moving during the docking check .

I'd therefore suggest either the targets are moving or are docking to something

Thanks for your explanation Chris.

Are you saying that if I were close enough to begin with, when trying to dock I would be able to, even if the target boat was moving?

Actually I succeeded. In manouvering my orange dot right on top of the black dot. Then that ship disappeared from the list of dockable locations. I (my character) will never enter a boat again if I get home safely from this. ;)

Oh, ok. If I tell you it has disappeared from the visible vessels list as well, what does that mean? Am I dangling in my dinghy from the mast of the longboat and can't se it because the bottom of my dinghy covers it from view? :D

Then it definately docked (... or was destroyed or teleported but these are unlikely) - Only vessels at sea (or on lakes) are visible from the deck of another sailing vessel

I think you guys deleted an abandoned sloop at Stachni Hills South my character wanted to eventually break into. My character threw a tantrum.

I wonder what happened to it? It just disappeared. I guess pirates took it.
