Phobias!!

Postby Dee » Sun Nov 13, 2005 7:17 pm

So, everyone of us, or most of us, suffer from some phobias, right?

And I suffer from a lot of them... I'll mention some and I'll complete the list as I remember what else I'm afraid of..

* I don't sleep in the dark

* I don't like sleeping alone in the room, but it happens anyway

* I don't like lying to my parents (it really makes me feel uncomfortable)

* I HATE SNAKES!!!

* I have to open the shower curtain whenever I enter the bathroom

* I don't eat fish, because I'm afraid I'd swallow on their bones (don't know what you call them)

* When I eat meat, I try to be very careful not to chocke on it

* I'm afraid of black cats

* And big flies!!!!

Hmm... Can't think of anything else... So, what about you? What are you afraid of?

I have one. :lol:

Okay, really I'm not afraid of much, but spiders...I'm terrified of them. Even the tiny ones...I see a spider, I run.
Uhm...I sometimes have to open the shower curtain when I go in the bathroom too. I dunno why though.

Awkward: Having your phone go off full volume during a funeral.

Even more awkward: Your ringtone being "I Will Survive"

The most awkward: Coming back after a 10+ year hiatus and swearing I'd never come back. :twisted:

I hate taking out the trash at night. Especially when it's windy...

I'm afraid of people changing or proving out to be something else than I thought. Which also includes changing into werewolves and space aliens.

I'm also afraid of stepping on spiders and bugs, so when I walk around inside with bare feet, I have to wipe my soles every time I step on something, even if it was a bread crumb. And if I get such objects inside my socks, I can't just pull them outta there because it might be a spider, so I gotta roll the socks the other way around and shake off what ever is inside.

I hate bugs of all kinds, except rolly pollies and ladybugs... I especially can't stand roaches or spiders! Just the thought of any bugs make me feel very ill...

I had an irrational fear of needles (shots) until this year when I got 6 or 7 in preparation for my trip to Kenya. It was strange, I wasn't afraid of the pain, just the thought of a needle penetrating a muscle or vein. I think I'm over it. No other phobia.

What I'm afraid may depend on what I might be thinking. I might be afraid of the dark, but maybe that's because I kept thinking up some scary event, like some dead body of rot coming through the ceiling window, or the grudge appearing right up my face, and something like that. Somehow my mind gets provoked of thinking those things, and kept reacting to it as if I was convinced they are about to happen. I also don't like thinking anything that involves pain inside the flesh, cutting human flesh, and something along the lines of that.

Omg, I got the exact same thing! Just hate the thought of something going under my skin, yuck! Maybe it's because I ended up in hospital when I was four and had a blood sample taken each day. I also remember when I tried to make myself a tattoo and kept poking my arm with a needle until one time I accidentally hit a vein and it went pop sorta, and there was a droplet of blood. Yucky. Anyway, I'm not so much afraid of vaccinations or hemoglobine tests but blood tests taken from the arm are the worst.

No, hemoglobine tests are blood tests taken from the fingertip. Because you only need a little droplet of blood and not a full vial. Be that hemoglobine can also be measured from vein blood but the skin prick test is faster so unless you're having other things tested as well, they're not going to take a full blood sample.

I hate the fingertip ones! Because they just keep squeezing out blood from it!

OMG I used to be so afraid of birds because of that movie...I was young and walking down a back road, during migration season, and there were so many birds in the trees, I covered my head and ran all the way home!!!! But that fear is passed...Now when I see a large flock of birds...I just duck (hehe) quickly inside...due to another incident...when a large flock of blackbirds flew overhead...and it sounded like rain.......I was sent home from work that day :)

My Phobias
Spiders...I hate spiders, but..if they are on the otherside of a window, I find them interesting to watch..when they are spinning a web, or at night when they are awaiting their prey (Sunni Shivers)

Storm Drains... ever read the book "IT" by stephen King?

Dark nights when it is pitch black...not just dark..but no moon..no light at all..I get spooked really easy..
