New resources have just appeared in older continents before-- some kinds of fish, cotton, water, flowers, etc.

And Anthony has told us that the WORD OF JOS is that that doesn't happen anymore. That's why no one's ever seen the resources for the medicinal mixtures, for example.

Alright, how about briks?

of course, you get clay.. 20 to make a brick.. and about 1000 bricks to make a house. 20000 clay for one house.

and to make a brick, all you need to do, is start a project, making briks, select the amount of bricks to put into the project, and, for tools, a wooden square(as my brother puts it) and thats it.

If you use a kiln, you make more briks per day. and when buildings have hit points, you make stronger bricks.

Don't forget water, your bath house will need water. Does what Jos said mean that we will never have water on the main islands. It was there in a few places, but I think its gone now...

Windows could probably be done right now, simply by employing the same mechanism used on vehicles, in that you can talk to others but have limited visibility.

I have characters in places where there's plenty of sand, but no water, so no mud huts. :(

Buidings. They are important in cantr. And I belive they can use some changes. Nothing dramatic, but right now there is a mess. I look at buildings in general, I read topics on forum, wiki, and of course I know how they look and work in game. I have few remarks.

1. Building or room.
It is just silly. Archaic leftovers from the old days. And now we have cities full of "building or room"s. The same with "marble building or marble room". We have brick buildings, not "brick building or brick room". So I propose just change names similarly so we can have:
- brick building
- stone building
- marble building
And nothing will really change, but we can have nicer looking towns and houses. Aesthetic change really. But no more: "I live in a building or room, but not sure in with one, and what was used to create this something"

2. We have many resources that can be used to create buildings.

Buildings from reed and mud (small and simple), from wood (few forms and size + wood extensions), from timber (two sizes)
But real buildings from stone should be, after better naming, like that: stone buiding, stone extension, stone hall.
We have brick building and marble building, we need: brick hall, brick extension, marble hall, marble extension.
As wiki says: An extension is a room that can be built in its same-material counterpart, to extend the size while not paying a lot to do so.

Brick and marble are good resources for bigger and more complex structures. And it can encourage using these materials better. Of course no mud and reed halls :)

Finally, I just want to say that there are many ways to revolutionize buildings in cantr. Usually very good. There is much to think and to do. But I just give two ways how to make easy and good changes right now. None of this is agains other good solutions and long term plans.

What about a Great hall or Ivory hall?

Materials:
60000 grams of stone
1000 grams of ivory
50 grams of gold

Why there should be that kind of hall?

If you build Great hall in your town other towns will become green with envy :x .
So this is a Wonder of the World type building.

How is the ivory attached to it? If there's going to be gold then 50 grams is not enough, even as a thin paint.

I don't think it would be impossible to run a check on whether a room is in another room, if yes then it would be called a room, otherwise it could be called a building.

We should have a massive-uber house. Like lots of gold, stone, and things. A PALACE not a Hall.

Its not a fort, more of a place for wealthy people. Just a plain ol' home... however, I doubt many would try to build it as it is expensive.

Maybe diamonds in stead of ivory. And yes, it needs more gold. 500 grams of gold should be enough.
