Unreachable town?

Postby Nick » Tue Nov 08, 2005 10:59 am

I even waited a couple of hours to see if the docking options would let me dock there. I'm in a darter. Why can I not dock to that town?

Ubuntu? Cool! 8)

Anyway, could it be that the nearest harbour is too full? I've not had any sailing characters but I do know that there are a number of vessels already in harbour there.

I'm unsure why that boat doesn't have that town as a potential docking target and more importantly I'm unsure why that particular vessel is not being processed during the sailing updates :(

I will add the town to the docking options for that vessel . Can you let me know (probably best off forum) if the docking succeeds

EDIT I've sent you a PM with a couple of questions whihc may help trace the problem

I have come across a few towns like this, and this one in particular I believe. It was my guess that they really aren't on the sea.

In this case the town is on the sea . The problem is an issue with undocking from ships and ship movement .

Boats undocking from other vessels where ignoring land based docking options and docking options where not updated until the boat physically moved.

A fix is being tested and will be made available soon

I have just happened upon this island, and have been sailing around it. And although I have seen many cities, I have not been able to dock to any (even though I am in a sloop). Here is one example of a city that it seems like I should be able to dock to. Since I sailed here from one of the old english islands, would it be possible that this is one of those places that no cities could be docked to? I would just be happy knowing there was at least one city on this friggin piece of land where I can stop and resupply. As you can see from the screen shot, the character is "William Hunter" in his sloop named the "Gallant Explorer".

EDIT: Sorry about the size of the picture, still trying to get everything right.

All I can confirm is that none of the locations you have passed recently within docking range actually border water so are not available for docking and that none of the closest 30 locations can be docked at .

I'll pas sthi son to the new lands department - At least 4 or these locations are beach and I'd guess should be dockable

Thank you Chris. It is quite a relief knowing that if I continue to sail around this large land mass, that I will eventually be able to dock.
