Has this ever happened to you? (player goof-up)
I just got in a situation where two of my chars ended up in the same place.
Well, actually, two places with two of my chars, both unintended.
One char spawned in a place that another was already traveling to, to help on someone's resource-run... the other case, two chars ended up traveling with groups of people that were going to the same place, I figured these two would miss eachother by some time, but this one group decided to stay longer to do more trading and gathering... so, this char saw the other arrive.
Apart from greeting eachother politely and maybe some joking on eachother's names, there was no interaction intended.
The goof-up appeared when someone from this little group on a resource-run asked how they could repay me for a wasted trip, and I was switching chars, but switched to the wrong one... well, that ended up weird, the other char answering for someone else...
I think - or at least, hope - I pulled off a decent save, considering the possible size of my mess-up, by just trying to bulldoze it over with the RIGHT char taking over the answer and making the "weird character who spoke instead" fade into the background.
Do any of you other players ever have panic-moments in your character's lives where you end up slamming your heads into the keyboard?
(and yes, I'm now scrambling to come up with a plan to make my chars go as far from eachother as can be... heh...)

I have had a very recent and very major goof-up like that. I had to simply apologize OOC for it and move on. I have two characters that have had to act within very close proximity to each other for a while now. (They are finally away from each other.) And both of them are talkers, so I ended up saying a big announcement with the wrong character and it confused a bunch of people.

I've done it before but not on Cantr, it was on another RP chat a long time ago. I was playing three characters which interacted quite a bit and in the midst of the interaction two of they actualy swapped over in my head and I started playing them both wrong. It was easily spotted as one was male and the other female. Very embarrasing. *grins*

I have two characters on K-Isle, and while they have never met (came very close once), I found my biggest problem was keeping track of who knew what about the Blackrocks, which bothered me considerably since I'm ususally air-tight when it comes to keeping my characters separate (i.e., I've never confused my characters before).
Ironicly, it turns out that the one the knew the most now knows the least.

I've done this before, and it can be very embarrassing.
My worst "smack my head on the keyboard" didn't involved one charrie saying something for another, though. It was a situation of thinking my char had entered a building to speak to his wife, when in fact all he'd done was knock on the door. I didn't realize this, and what he said to my wife, which was now posted out loud for the whole town, almost started a war, as it was threatening towards a visitor who was there.
I've also posted secret things to the wrong person....in fact, to the person my char was speaking against. Didn't do much good for the situation, let me tell you!

Yeah, I've had both a slam-head-into-keyboard (SHIK) moment and a 2 chars in the same place by accident. The 2 chars by accident was quite ironic as I had decided that the 2nd character was going to be almost the exact opposite, personality wise as the char he spawned next to. I just made them have an arugment and then one stormed out of town.
The SHIK moment was a simple error of thinking I was saying something in private when instead I broadcast it to the whole town, but to make matters worse it was in the middle (well more like the end) of an "unsavoury" act...I actually blushed in RL!
