Animals attacking animals
Hmm... What do you guys think?
Just like animals attack people, they could attack other animals aswell. With animal products to be dropped on the ground after a kill.

The only problem I see with it, is that rabbits, pigeons, and other small animals would quickly become extinct (they have a low spawn rate, and could be killed in one hit from many animals). And I think that if an animal killed another animal, that most of the fur, hide, meat, and sinew would NOT fall to the ground (being consumed by the animal in question, even if you don't think an elephant would eat a wolf).

Mebbe those animals should have a higher spawn rate? Or maybe they should be harder to hit, owing to their small size.

I think its great but not very important.
animals will still attack humans but also attack each other right.

I had once thought that it would be cool if carnivores needed to actually eat meat to survive, but trying to balance that with an unpredictable player population would end up either having too few carnivores, extinct herd animals, or a super-Burgeo situation where the players get eaten.
Having a functial ecosystem is a simple suggestion that leads to the biggest can of worms you've ever imagined.
Edit: I don't think it's good to have animals just attacking animals for no reason (or to simulate an ecosystem). If something is implemented, it should have a real purpose.

When an animal attakes an animal... The meat and bones END UP ON THE GROUND, AND ANIMALS PROMPTLY CONSUM IT... also, why arn'et thos sheep eating my carrots? BECOUS THIS HASEN'T BEEN MADE YET!!
Think of it, We would have to worry about FOOD ON THE GROUND!!

You should worry about food on the ground now, Pie. It disappears, which is usually explained as "rotting," but couldn't it be seen as animals eating it too?
I don't think this would have a significant enough effect on the game to be worth implementing. If it were to be implemented, I don't think animals should stop attacking people . . . characters need to solve their animal issues in-game.
I think it is totally realistic for people to have to struggle on uninhabited islands, where there isn't a sizeable enough population to defend themselves from the animals.
