I know what you mean, but how did the first metal mining take place? What did they use? It doesn't take forever without a tool in Cantr. The amount you get is small, but so is the aount you need.

The question you ahve to ask yourself is if this makes the game better (more fun). I don't think it would be if you couldn't get certain resources without a tool. If everyone needed a dung-fork to gather food, most of the world would die. And so it should remain with collecting iron. Tools help, but aren't necessary.

Exactly. Sometimes perfect realism in the sim needs to be sacrificed in the name of playability.

My view is it would make the game more challenging, but lets leave it at that, or start a new thread about it.

In American money there are numbers on paper money to authenticate it's realness.
Perhaps adding a coin press isn't such a bad idea. It should be like a building project...When you start the coin project it takes you to a page where it asks you what you want to name your money.....Chars would be able to put anything there from 5 in qui....or numbers like americans do on paper money.
Of course the money made will still be able to be counterfitted.....but I suppose those who are making it..including the govt ....its up to them to keep track of how much they made to make sure or see to it noone is making a counterfit ....

Another idea for the press would be once it is made it gets a game stamp...an auto stamp of some sort....where the time date in the game is put on it automatiacally and can't be added or changed by anyone. This would help detect wheather it was real.....
Sure others can try to make money to reproduce your idea with the same name etc and hope you don't notice their date is differant.

Just some ideas...

I like this idea too.
I'd rather have a monument to stand by when grieving/rejoicing an event etc. Than going inside of a building someone built to remember a deceased character.
Although building buildings is a nice thought-gesture. Monuments and statues would better serve a purpose as far as the social role playing aspect of the game goes.

Grrrrrrrr. lol...I didn't realize that my money post was posted in the wrong post.....so when my reply to statues was posted i thought i had posted it in the wrong section...then came here again and posted again ! Sorry LOL

Edit: Solfius: I tried to see about moving your money post into the right thread, but I can't figure out to do it, if you repost it inthe right thread I can delete it from here (I already did that to the duplicated post) and that should sort it out

 Statues can also become idols. Imagine if a religious group decided to erect a statue of their god, and worshiped it...

Would that be cool or what? Cantr needs more religions.
Like the beat beat beat of the tom-tom
When the jungle shadows fall
Like the tick tick tock of the stately clock
As it stands against the wall...

I really like this idea!
Especially Rob Maules idea about a short general description and then the possibility to see a more advances description with a button click :)

Perhaps this would open up the possibility for more luxurius stone materials, like marble?

Right, this is an old idea. We really need statues.

Erm... as described in the first post:
Solfius wrote:Description / comments:
some kind of fixed object with an inscription which can be read like a note and a title would be nice for permanent memorials or people and events

We now have this - a stone landmark...

If you mean statues as in of a person - that'd require visual descriptions of the Cantrian in question - which is kinda under discussion here which I guess would have to implemented in some way before statues/images of a Cantrian can be said to have any bearing...
Whoever you vote for.

The government wins.
