Travel Time and route

Postby theguy » Sun Oct 09, 2005 6:52 pm

My suggestion is to make some thing saying how near you are to a town like

it saying travling from (a town name) to (a town name) 1 day to go

it would be useful maby even with hours

I dont know if this should be with my suggestion but why if you start traveling then turn around it seems to take longer to get back than it did to get into that place in the road.

It's not really necessary - if you keep track of your character as you should, you should have the arrival time down to within a couple of hours. All the same it would be a good convenience feature.

Going back takes the same amount of time. Psychology at work there, I guess.

Not exactly ... You forget that there is some rounding involved. Travelling is processed every three hours, so if you turn around at an awkward moment, it might seem as if it takes much longer.

I disagree with this post. It's automation of something that could be calculated in character.
I also shouldn't be able to know how far a town is if I've never travelled there, or never paid attention to how long it took me last time.
