Weight problem on dirt bike

Postby Razorlance » Wed Sep 28, 2005 12:38 pm

My character has a dirt bike, :D Which is, as far as I'm aware, completely empty bar the lock, but my character can't get on it. He could up until a few days ago, then he collected some resources, but since then he can't. :( I get the message

ERROR: You cannot enter as there would be too much weight inside.=

I've tried dropping the equivalent weight he gathered, and more!, to try and get back on, but to no avail.

If you can't get on at all, then you have a problem. Dirt bikes have a small carryon weight, but my char with one is using it to ferry supplies to build a building, so I can get on and off no problem. If you drop wieght, and can't get on even if you are carrying nothing at all, and I mean 0 grams, then there's something screwy going on.

because the cantr body weighs 60000grams, the bike might not be able to carry 75000grams. I dunno but i imagine that it should be able to carry you. Maybe someone is locked inside?

I would imagine he'd have noticed if someone had entered his (presumably locked) vehicle and died there. Unlikely.

Razorlance , Thank you for providing the information. I've responded in email with a few more details but basically your character is still carrying too much weight.

Dirt bikes have a very low carry-on capacity . Do not expect to be able to enter one when you are carrying much more than half your normal carrying capacity.

Travel light and keep an eye on your food!

The good news is, you won't have to worry about how far more food is to gather. Seriously. Really. Really really seriously.

But, but, but... I was carryng more than I have now when I first entered the bike, and got on and off at various other places without a problem. It's only when I gathered some more resources that I couldn't get back on.

EDIT:  I forgot I did some hunting, I was carrying too much, I must have got within a few hundred grams of the limit when I tried dropping stuff before I gave up and posted here. Also did'nt realise the difference between carry-on weight and actual cargo space on the bike. I thought I could have a full inventory and extra weight on the bike.
