Infections caus a need for doctors?
ALL RIGHT!!! So in cantr, there arn't that many docors, but could Infections caus a need for doctors? I will make endles other posts for other siknesses that will caus a need for doctors. but only one suggestion per topic.
So if you get attaked by a steel sabre, and the wound IS'NT coverd up, or you don't have enough nuts to eat, it will get infected, and you could die from it, it will, like, kill of, maby, 1% of helth dayly, and you can easly see it if you "look" at that caracter.
And also, if it gets into the blood system, like, if it kills of 10-50% of helth it could get into your blood system, and, Whatever happens when that happens in reall life will happen in cantr, and you will have to amputate that limb/digit/ear to save your life.

that would work... the hier the infection is, the more helth gets of. ITS PERFICT!! And it is as simple as that. Plus amputation, and that person would have to be dragged everywere.

That might stop people from trying to settle in the backlands with no good equipment. It's just realistic. But there should be a lot of randomness. How about when you're infected, every day you have a 50% of losing 1% health? So someone who's lucky could drag on for days while... Hmm, on this speed it would take years for somebody to die from infection. No good. It should be a fast thing. BUT natural healing should be around too. Otherwise it's bye bye a lot of characters.

I think an infection (god forbid it's implemented, I'm not in favor of more disease personally) should take of about 5-10% a day, which should leave enough to randomness. However, I don't think it should be so hard to cure an infection. A few days of resting (actually resting, not just not working on projects) and eating enough food should cure it. So all you'd have to do is rest on a cot for three days and have enough food for those three days to get rid of the infection.
Also, I think the events page ought to mention it. EX:
1300-0: A man in his twenties hits you with a claymore. You take 39 damage.
1300: You contract an infection.

If it's a wound infection, you probably wouldn't notice it right away. "Oh, that guy just slashed me with a sabre. I think I feel some dark spirits moving in the wound, owie owie." But it might say the next day "You notice your wound has gotten infected". In the beginning the health loss would be small, then increasing rapidly, then (provided that your body is strong enough to beat the "dark spirits"), it would start slowing down and start healing.

yep. And the thing is, in plases that DONT have enough doctors, YOU CAN JUST REMIDY IT BY CUTTING OF HIS ARM!!! THAT IS SOO COOL!!! of course to prevent another infection you will have to put something to cover up the wound on it, say, 10g of cloth to cover up the wound and decrese the chance of infection.
And of course you could aplly the cloth on before you have to amputate your leg of course.

but how do doctors get paid? with food. Some doctors might not like the idea of food as the only reward and might just heal people who are willing to give better gifts for healing. Then you think about the newspawns that cannot afford to give good gifts to get healed. Then, they die. The system is flawed. No offence to pie though. Great topic
