I don't think finding a base of players for the area would be a problem. I would have a latin character, because I have a base-level proficency in Latin... but not a high enough level for translator... :( And I think many people are in the same kind of situuation.

Come back, Trage! All is forgiven!

I'm fluent enough to play there... possibly... but not enough to translate. Have you perhaps found someone gullible enough, er, I mean kind enough to do it?

I'm learning! But as of yet, I'm still pretty poor at it.

I will definitely create a caracter in Latin, I'm learning too, I readed the Newton's Philosophae Naturalis Principia Mathematica and understanded but maybe I'll have some problems writing in Latin, but I think we can learn more while playing, and help to correct any translation mistake. Besides that, it's very interesting to create a new civilization with a new language like now the Portuguese, I have a caracter in that language and it's great to start from the beginning namimg places, exploring, etc.

Yep, we definite seem to have enough people to start up a Latin area... just nobody to translate. I would, if I had a comprehensive English/Latin dictionary and a bunch of free time, but as I have neither, I suppose I'll just sit around with everyone else, waiting for someone to volunteer.

I'd really play any language area of Cantr to learn a language but the problem is I only speak english and I don't know where I would be able to learn other languages.

I've started learning Latin on that site given in the OP.
Only at lesson 4 so far. Will be interesting to see if I have enough motivation to get through everything, but so far it's easy and fun.

I think it may be a good idea to open a section in the forum for latin, having a dedicated section would give the language more attention and make it easier for interested players to put fuel on the fire. The Finnish section has only 12 posts, and just this thread about Latin beats that.

Mind you, this thread has been going on since 2004 while the Finnish forum was founded last week. :P

I'd be interested in a Cantr in Latin as well :P
