We become frustrated at the fact that we RP'd our own way...and now our own way has been converted to being affected by chance. New players will not see this as a problem and will RP the skills they are given. *sighs* In the end...It is the Cantr way to be forever changing...when we now make a new Charrie, we will role play it also into it's abilities. (atleast I would) I truely believe that, although this is a 'Society Simulater' and the changing aspects are needed to keep it as a simulator....It is the ROLE PLAY it's self that keeps alot of people playing.

For all you people who think the skills affect your Role play.. Obviously don't know how to RP. Play it people.

Cantr is a work in progress. Things will get changed up majorly, it has severely affected gameplay for me over the past three of four years I've been playing. Sometimes, it's really screwed me over. But they don't make implementations to help your characters or hurt your characters, they make implementations to "strengthen the framework", as Sho was saying.

Until I can't tell the difference between the Cantr world and the real world, I imagine Cantr will still be under developpment. If you can't handle change, Cantr is not the right game for you. I tell you this from experience.

You shouldn't have been anyway, as everyone worked at the same speed.

This is what I was saying on the other topic.

I'm happy with change, and accept it as part of Cantr. I just feel a little narky that it's taking away a bit of what attracts me to Cantr.

Do the skills work?

Has anyone seen one of their chars go up in skill level for hunting or fighting?

I had a character hunt like 12 packs of animals a day for several years and not improve. He died from animal attacks, eventually.

Poor Um.

Ditto, especially since I no longer have enough time to play as I would like.

I saw someone improving in hunting but it still annoys the crap out of me when someone is hunting awkwardly day after day and there's nothing else to watch. Almost makes me want to put an arrow in them.

Yikes. So we should just kill all awkward people?

Well... given the way the skill system works... if we eliminated all awkward people on sight, it would improve the overall next generation of newspawns... Although it would be a scary form of cantr cleansing. We would become "skill-ists." :?
