A gate system could be set up with four keys and two chracters. If you want in or out you get a key from one of the two and return in to the other when you pass though the door. The two would balance out the keys. The gate would be locked at all times.
There would have to be a benifit to being inside besides safety. A way of exchanging work on the outside for work on the inside.

hmm, I had been thinking of simply dragging people between doors, to get into it originally, and the near enough free movement once inside.
It does provide a great deal of safety though, which does balance things, very easy to defend. Imagine if Krif was a self contained city, then Matthew Hardy wouldn't have been able to do his killing spree.
Actually it's very good for isolationist type societies. Just go inside and lock the 6 gates and forget the sky even exists...

Something the cost of a hall or building that can include buildings that are already built.
more complex buildings, so you can have more than one door to exit a place form, so our buildings are less like a sort of branching tree. That would be brilliant.
Could a way to link to rooms together be programmed? Like a door project, where you build a door between two rooms. You could have a new kind of burgurlary, build a room, then build a door in it to other buildings in the town, and no one is any the wiser

I was just thinking of a way for towns with many buildings to group their building. Like grouping their residential ones if they choose.
Making rooms interconnect could be implemented someday. Some things would need to be thought about.
How can it be determined if two buildings are next to each other? If the all are then some odd connections would be made.
What should it cost to interconnect? Should it be a building or a hall that connect the two?
Should the project show up on both sides? Or should it be more like "You hear someone tunneling into this room"

to start with it could be limited to putting corridors between rooms in the same building. So rooms in the Primary Communications Tower could be connected by a corridor type building. Perhaps for inter building then you would see a notification that someone was connecting the two buildings, or perhaps for all buildings. something like you said, you hear tunneling.
To avoid odd connections we could say that corridors are subterranean, and so can go under or around existing corridors and rooms/buildings

lol but wouldnt living in a building make them hermits? but it would be cool. reminds me of zelda where the rock people live in the mountain and everythings connected to the main room.
cool idea. speaking of which maybe someone will make a game out of that like set up some resources and them let two or three people in, then they can choose which building they go into and try to find the resources lol. but the rooms inside would have more rooms and more and so on.
"I think I am wearing a raccoon instead of a fur loin cloth!" O_O poor raccoon....
