Cantr Survey: Are you a Social Failiure?
Do you describe yourself as a "Social Failiure" in real life? Did you come to Cantr to find an alternative life?
Please do answer.. and plain "yes" or "no" would do the job...
As for my answer:
Yes, but not totally.

It would depend on the definition of 'social failure'. If a social failure is someone who isn't in any clicks, doesn't (and doesn't want to) fit in with the 'in' crowd, and doesn't give a sh*t what anyone thinks of it, then yes. Otherwise, no.
Either way, I don't play Cantr to get a life, just because any other game ends up boring me to tears after a while. And since the little time I spend playing games is my break from RL, I gotta have a some to play, so for now Cantr (and occasionally some Civ 3 or GTA) is it.

No. Not a failure. Two great kids. One great wife. Real estate investments will take me to retirement while I continue to move up in the world's largest company. I have a great church with a great congregation. I get involved in local politics and I'm blessed to be able to spend time on my boat, with my family and my friends...and still get a chance to goof around on this great game!

That's exactly the definition I have in mind... I totally diagree with what is considered to be "in"...
I did initially come to Cantr to find an alternative life, though.

I should have read that closer...but it was too late. If that's the definition, then sometimes yes.
I know what I want to do. Work hard, play hard, retire at 40 and give to the community that I was raised in and do good works for the entire world in Christian mission. These are the things that drive me.
I've been told I can't retire at 40. I have the data (and the money) and I WILL retire at 40 regardless of what the naysayers think. And then, I'll devote much more time to helping others. I will continue to play hard by travelling the world, climbing mountains, testing rapids, sailing the world even though people tell me I'm taking risk. I spend lots of time working for the schools and city government I grew up in, even though I no longer live there. The general consensus is that it was and still is a dump not worthy of my time...I disagree.
I've taken crap on this forum and MANY, MANY others including personal attack in my home town, in Europe and in Africa for my Christian beliefs...but I don't live my life to please naysayers. I work for what I believe in, I have no fear of dying and I drive extremely hard to achieve a Vision when I've developed one.
So, yes, I agree to a point, that I am a social failure...and that's a good thing!
