Dwarves

Postby A Neo Irony » Sun Aug 28, 2005 6:27 pm

In Xiria Forest West there's a man claiming to come from a clan of dwarves. I'm not sure about this but would dwarves be considered an ooc concept? The clan thing I think is alright since he can claim whatever he likes.

Well dwarves do exist... Their not like midgets because dwarves are small people who have arms and legs proportion to their body. So this brings up another question...
Can we roleplay small people?

It should be possible. I got two short people, though they ain't midgets, one exeptionally tall and one just tall... Of course it doesn't affect how easily you can drag them... I think it should be allowed to play physical differences as long as they're possible in real life. For example there's an elderly character with blue hair and nobody complains about this, but another one was said to have green skin and it was reported... Sorry I'm drifting.

Small people ok, small people with long plaited beards and axes no.

I think I mispoke. He's not playing a short person, he's playing a dwarf. A beer drinking, axe weilding, scottish accented dwarf. I wouldn't mind if he just said his character was short. It's the fact he's using a fantasy race. It'd be the same case if he said "Hey look at me, I'm an elf!"

That's definitely an OOC concept then.
Just because you're older, smarter, stronger, more talented... doesn't mean you're BETTER.

Exactly. The green skinned man was not allowed to continue with his rp direction as he also claimed to be....I can't remember, a gremlin?

It is asked that these ooc fantasy races not be rp'd, however when you encounter it, it is natural for those around them to consider them quite insane.
