Blocking percents

Why is it that when someone blocks an actual weapon, it shows how much they actually blocked, yet when someone blocks bare fists, it shows the maximum amount that it can block? This makes things very confusing for characters.

Ignore what I said, lol. But I have a question now. I had a character just block 2 with his iron shield...Now, I don't think hes that weak...hes not really tired or anything...So whats going on???

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. But I think what happens is, is if the person deals no damage to you, then it shows the amount of damage that you could save in all, but if they do do damage, it shows actually how much you save. Is that right?

I don't get it...
I mean no one deals 0% damage unless their ill or weak.

"1271-5: (Name Withheld)skillfully hurts you using a bare fist. You lose 0 percent strength. You novicely saved 17 percent using your iron shield."

Now if I didn't have a shield would have done 0 or 17 damage? Because if they didn't do 17 damage, then it's a problem with the wording...

Maybe it should be:
"you lose 0 percent strength. Your shield takes a little/some damage/ a lot of damage"

It just the no matter what (besides it not being used) your shield will always show the max possible you can save with that iron shield.

Well they need to change the wording...
As it is, it states that at that present time I HAD SAVED 17 percent. I can't save somthing that wasn't there... For me to save 17% he had to hit me for 17%

Umm, usually a bare fist attack is 2% to 4% so it's possible that you were even blocking 20% which reduces the damage to 0 and there's still 17% extra.

I'm confuzzled...

How can I block 17% if he did 3% damage when he wit me? there is a non-existant 14% there...

I was just hit for another 13% or was I hit for 7%? I think this needs a bit of clerification...(sp?)

You were hit for no damage.
The fist probably had a damage value of 0-5, but your seventeen points of blocking with your shield easily covered whatever he could dish out.

You mean everything my shield gets hit it loses percent?

First it said 17% then it said 13%...
